City updade IV is WRONG in ITALY

Well done, well done. In your latest City Update IV, you fixed Venice, Verona, Bologna. But as for the latest fixes in Southern Italy, for example my airport in Bari and the city of Bari, they have gone back to having completely full waterways, drainage channels and various channels around the city all filled with water. Let me remind you that Bing Maps is the most inaccurate map in the world. And I also want to point out that Apulia is a karst region, which means that rainwater is absorbed by the ground and ends up underground. I have never seen Bari airport with a river flowing beside it. It’s impossible.

Hi @Symonx6 ,

Thank you for this report. We’ve moved your topic into the User Support Hub.

The Bug Reporting Hub is for posting suspected or confirmed bugs that other users are able to reproduce without duplicating an existing bug report. Using the template or providing all the relevant information about your bug and sim setup is required in order to provide valuable information, feedback, and replication steps to our test team.

If you are not sure if your issue is a bug or need further input from the community, please use the User Support Hub category. If the community can replicate your issue, first search the Bug category to see if there’s an existing topic. If it already exists, contribute to that report. Duplicate bug reports will be closed.

If you believe it is a new report and no duplicate exists, then create a new bug topic using the provided topic template.

All issues caused by or involving third-party addons/mods should be reported to the third-party developer. Assure that no addons/mods are used when reporting issues in Bug Reports.

It sounds like you’re saying they were correct before the update. Out of curiosity, are you using any other addons such as Project Coastlines, a scenery for Bari, or even freeware water fixes? If so, it’s possible they need to be updated to be compatible with the city update. If not, it sounds like a regression but I cannot confirm as I’ve only flown in Italy since the update.

On my PC with MSFS 2024 with all WUs & CUs installed, I don’t see any water around airport LIBD - e.g. along the channel to the right (Parco Naturale Regionale Lama Balice):

Nor in the city by the port / harbor:

But I do see the canal (Canale deviatore Nord Bari) at the Raccordo Giuseppe Rossi - just to the northeast of Carbonara di Bari - filled with water:

A wider view in the world map:

No idea if water is there at this time of year in real life. It’s a canal, so man-made & presumably contains water at some point during the year.

Previously, before the latest update, I had asked for the water to be removed from these channels, and it was fixed. However, with City Update IV, all the channels have been filled with water again, which is simply not realistic.

This is the exact map showing all the “Lame”, the natural karst drainage channels found throughout the Bari area, including those near Bari Airport (LIBD) and toward Bitonto.

In real life, these channels currently contain no water at all. In the Bari area, especially during summer, temperatures can reach around 40°C, and these channels are completely dry. There is no permanent water flowing through them.

Please remove the water from these channels again, because what is currently shown in the simulator does not reflect the real landscape of Bari and its surroundings.

This is the map of all the lame in the Bari area. They are all dry and contain no water.

Please remember, and I repeat this once again, that the territory of Bari and the whole of Puglia is karst terrain. This means that when it rains, much of the water is absorbed into the ground and drains into the underground karst system, rather than remaining in these channels as permanent surface water.

The pier at the Port of Bari is poorly made. This is what the real San Cataldo pier looks like

I visited Bari and the port earlier this year. Great city!

The Old Outer Breakwater of the Port of Bari, also known as the Molo Borbonico, is a historic 19th-century stone breakwater. Construction began around 1860 and was completed between 1872 and 1883. It was built with a rubble-mound stone base, heavy masonry and a distinctive curved wave-protection wall. It should not look like a modern concrete pier, but like an old Mediterranean harbour structure made of stone, with visible rock armour and historic masonry.

The Sant’Antonio Lighthouse stands at the end of Molo Sant’Antonio, in Bari’s historic Old Harbour. It is a small maritime beacon with a simple, functional design, marking the entrance to the harbour and forming a distinctive part of Bari’s traditional seafront. The structure should be represented as a small historic harbour light, not as a large modern lighthouse.
