ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
The Cessna Citation CJ4 in MSFS 2024 exhibits consistent lateral navigation (LNAV) overshoot when flying GPS/FMS routes in NAV mode.
During cruise at high alt , the aircraft repeatedly overshoots the magenta route, then aggressively corrects back, resulting in continuous lateral oscillation (“S-turning”) instead of a stable route capture.
The FMS correctly displays the route, but the autopilot’s LNAV execution fails to anticipate turns adequately at cruise speeds, leading to late roll-in, excessive bank correction, and repeated overcorrection.
This behavior is reminiscent of pre-Working Title CJ4 behavior in MSFS 2020 and appears to persist despite WT integration into the MSFS 2024 base aircraft.
This behavior appears related to the lateral Flight Director issue discussed in the MSFS 2024 CJ4 forum thread “CJ4 Flight Director lateral issue”, where the FD does not correctly represent lateral guidance in NAV mode. In both cases, the FMS route depiction remains correct, while the lateral guidance (FD/AP) response is inconsistent, suggesting a common underlying issue in the LNAV / Flight Director / roll control coupling rather than a routing or flight plan error.

How often does this occur:
Every time, reproducible on multiple flights under similar conditions.
REPRODUCTION STEPS

Load the Cessna Citation CJ4 (default MSFS 2024 version, no mods).

Create an IFR flight plan with long, shallow legs and minor heading changes (e.g. coastal routing).

Climb to cruise altitude (e.g. FL350–FL430).

Engage NAV mode (LNAV) with normal cruise Mach (e.g. M0.73–0.76).

Observe lateral tracking behavior over several waypoints.
Result:
The aircraft overshoots the route laterally, then corrects aggressively, repeatedly crossing the magenta line instead of stabilizing on it.
