 Thank you for using the Bug section, using templates provided will greatly help the team reproducing the issue and ease the process of fixing it.

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

No

Have you disabled/removed all your mods and addons?

Brief description of the issue:

ATC calls for “you are x below (or over) your assigned altitude” when you are FL100-FL180 when transition altitude is 10000 and preassure is different from STD

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Setting transition altitude at 10000 on FMC on CJ4 (not sure if another base/aau1/aau2 plane is affected too) and receiving FL100-180 from atc

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

Not relevant

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Despite the “normal” real world procedures where transition altitude varies depending on where you are, the sim treats transition level as 18,000ft (as per USA) everywhere. Therefore if you switch to “Standard” pressure at any level below that you are going to have an apparent altitude difference which “ATC” will spot and warn you accordingly.
My solution is to wait for ATC to state “Flight Level” then switch to standard pressure. Conversely when ATC refer to “X,000 ft” change to local barometric pressure (QNH). Establishing QNH isn’t always easy, sometimes you’re told, often not but pressing B on the keyboard gets you close.
This is a shortcoming of the current ATC engine which I hope will be addressed in the promised revamp.
