Clarification on career missions post IFR cert

So we know that once you pass your IFR cert real world weather unlocks in career mode, I get the reasons why, but I digress.

Once you unlock real weather you get a slider, however, this slider, for both weather and time ONLY refer to the airport your pilot is currently at, i.e. the airport you finished your last mission at.

If you select any mission that starts at an airport OTHER THAN the one you are currently at, real world weather does not work, it seems like the slider is fixed to the airport that is listed above it.

However, if you zoom in on your current airport and select it, you get the option to “fast travel”, for a credit cost.

So I guess my question is, is this intended behaviour?, is everything based around your current airport?, and instead of just picking a mission anywhere on the map, you should ferry via fast travel, or fly, your pilot to somewhere else, and the new airport will become active for real weather?

I guess your home airport is essentially irrelavent (until you get a business?)

Huh, looks like you might have struck a nail.
I just tried to Fast travel to an airport, slid the weather to morning, and even though the EFB reports noon mid August 2022, the weather is quite close to what it really was today with the winds and temperatures as well, including the NEXRAD visualization. And the ridiculous turbulence were gone
My guess is it was supposed to be how it works…
