Linear spot, still spot, flyby

The classic solution for viewpoints (cam positions) is not existing in FS2020.
For 30 years we had F1 for cockpit, F2 for external view, F3 for flyby, F4 for tailview, F10 for Tower View, F11 for runway cam. Where has all this standard pattern gone?
I hope they redo this, properly.

Or a third party plugin that gives us all those great view options back…

Yep would be great. IMO open a post at suggestion section, if you did not already.

In the meantime, I had the idea to use a script that auto positions drone camera by using sim connect variables, and by sending key presses. But there are very few sim connect commands defined for that. It takes time to do the positioning(4-5 secs), it is not instant. I can auto active pause, till the camera is set, but then there is this possibility of AP nose diving the aircraft into the ground. Fun to watch that from a distance first few times though.

I managed to get a similar result, by switching to drone camera, reseting it to the aircraft position, and slewing aircraft some distance back its path. There are lot more comprehensive sim connect events for aircraft slewing. It kinda works, if you don’t mind teleporting the aircraft back a couple hundred yards each time you want a flyby. Although sometimes AP gets twitchy after slew as well.

this is a core functionality, it should not be patched.
it should work properly from ground up.
Asobo are new to flight simming, so they messed up the whole viewing and interacting part.

I cant see how hard this would be for x camera or Asobo to create in the sim … this drone views just dont do it for me at all and it really lets the sim down
