My name is Stephan. Over the last few months, I have dedicated a lot of my free time and late nights to a passion project of mine, and I am excited to finally share Version 0.1.0 of my new MSFS Career Add-On Client: BeAPilot.
While the client is fully localized in English and German, I am looking to expand my testing pool to the wider community to help refine the experience.
What is BeAPilot?
BeAPilot is a standalone career application designed to give your flying purpose. While there are other great career tools out there (like NeoFly), my main focus has been on creating a modern, intuitive, and clean UI/UX while retaining deep simulation features.
Current Features (v0.1.0):
Flight School: A complete progression system. Start with zero knowledge, learn the theory, pass exams, and earn your licenses (SPL, PPL, CPL, ATP, etc.).
Career Mode: You don’t start as a CEO. You start as an employee. Apply to airlines (Passenger or Cargo), fly their aircraft, and earn a wage/reputation.
Aircraft Ownership: Save up to buy your own fleet. You are responsible for refueling and maintenance.
Hangar System: Buy and manage hangars at different airports. Upgrade them to store larger or more aircraft.
Progression & Skills: Earn XP, Money, and Reputation. Invest in a Skill Tree to unlock bonuses (e.g., higher payouts, better fuel efficiency).
Interactive Map: Track your position and see your destination
SimRate Support: Fully supports time acceleration for those long-haul flights.
In-Game EFB (WIP): A strictly developed in-game panel to manage your flight without tabing out (currently in development).
Modern Interface: No more cluttered windows or outdated spreadsheets. The UI is designed to be sleek, dark-mode friendly, and easy to read.
Performance: Lightweight client.
Flexibility: Validates landings (landing rate tracking included!) and flights seamlessly.
Call for Closed BETA Testers
I am currently looking for 10 dedicated Beta Testers to join the initial wave. I need help finding bugs, validating the economy balance, and providing feedback on the UI/UX.
Requirements:
Owns MSFS 2024.
Has a Discord account (for bug reporting).
Motivation to provide constructive feedback.
How to Apply: If you are interested, please comment below or send me an email at support@beapilotsim.com with the following details:
Which MSFS version do you own?
Which Operating System do you use? (Win 10/11)
How many monitors do you use?
Estimated hours available per week for testing?
Do you have any specific experience? (e.g., UI/UX design, real-world pilot, software testing, etc.)
Whilst I would love to test this product, I don’t have the spare time to devote to it, however, I’d like to make a feature request if possible. OnAir has a facility where you can add your favourite airports to a map and you can then specify to only use those airports when generating new missions/flights. A feature like that would make me more interested in this add-on in future, as I never use default airports, I only use payware or freeware airports.
Hi Stephan, I have to say — the images and the webpage look excellent. I’ve been hoping for a long time that someone would come up with something new and modern. Wishing you the best of luck in creating a great product!
Is the charge for an aircraft real 780.00 euros? Or, is it similar to the credit system in msfs 24?
If this is real hard earned cash for a virtual plane at that cost I personally wouldn’t use this product. Not because it isn’t any good but I couldn’t afford it. I am sure many others couldn’t either.
Hi Pilot,
you got that wrong i guess. Thats the ingame reward you earn for that Mission. You dont need to pay anything for the App right now. And I don´t plan to implement ingame purchases in future.
This looks really exciting! I don’t have enough human real-life bandwidth to join a small closed beta team right now. But as someone who has enjoyed FSEconomy first and then NeoFly, this looks like a very cool evolution of the concept.
I look forward to checking it out and providing feedback when you get to the point of a larger beta!
I definitely like the idea of being able to highlight specific airports to fly to/from. One thing I do in NeoFly is use it to explore all of the awesome Alaska bush strips I’ve downloaded from flightsim.to and Return to Misty Moorings.
Just as an example, I generally fly small to medium planes and floatplanes in the Pacific Northwest, and bush planes in Alaska and Canada, in these types of apps.
It would also be cool to be able to set up a “Buffalo Airways” type cargo/passenger operation with some classic cargo aircraft (C-46, DC-3, DC-6, 737) as well as some GA/commuter types.
Anyway, just tossing out my own weird usage for ideas. (I’m numerically sure there are more people who out there who just want to get into an A320, spend 20 minutes programming the FMS, and then sit back and watch the plane fly itself. More power to them, that’s just not me! )
Hi Editer,
thank you for your reply. Would be awesome to have someone like you sharing his Ideas in our discord. Right now the job system is based on Employers and their fleet. Before you apply you can see the fleet. The fleet is a fix value that i set. Could be changed easily. The Location of those Employers is based on your starting Hub. The first ones are pretty close, the bigger ones get more far until the biggest ones they are always at Continental Major Airports. There is a List I made for them so it could be easily adjusted too. But indeed if there is interest my plan was to include special Employers where i could set wishes like yours. So only missions in Alaska/Canada, only those airplanes etc. be updated and see if its coming
The Day a hardcore project could be done..i will take an eye on it ..for example a real ppl with an theorical real exam etc..an hardcore flight following with procedural vérification..
Hi everyone! I just released a major update for BeAPilot (v0.1.6), my standalone career add-on. This version focuses heavily on immersion, flight preparation, and expanding the types of flying you can do.
Here is what’s new in the cockpit:
1. Live Weather Briefing Preparation is key! I’ve implemented a new Pre-Flight Weather Briefing screen.
It pulls live METAR data for your departure and arrival airports.
You get a clear overview of Wind, Visibility, Clouds, Temperature, and Altimeter settings before you even step into the aircraft.
