No thanks, the map screen is cluttered enough. You can turn them off here or if not in live weather, change your weather to clear skis.

Get Rid of the Cloud overlay for good in your World Map. - PMDG Simulations
but it’s not saved.
I swear I have seen a post about this somewhere. Perhaps reddit.
When in the Free Flight menu, if I have Live Weather selected on a cloudy day, the ground is obscured. This makes selecting departure/arrival points difficult. It requires me to go into the weather settings, change it to clear skies, then set up my flight plan, then go back and turn Live Weather back on. This is cumbersome, particularly because of MSFS 2024’s overuse of different screens/menus for seemingly simple settings and tasks.
So, there it is. Don’t show the live weather in the Free Flight menu so we can actually see the ground. Or, a toggle switch?
That’s great. But it needs to be an option that persists between sessions.

And it also needs to be available for presets.
The way the cloud layer appears/disappears when you zoom in presets needs to be in reverse.
It’s like the feature was specified and implemented by someone that never uses it.
