oh interesting mine has definitely improved. the deadzone is still there and theres still some annoying acceleration, but the newest build has at least seemed to put an upper limit on the acceleration or something because now i cant whip my head around 10 rotations within a 2 inch mouse flick like i could before
I can’t understand how more people are not complaining about that, I need to be so gentle with my mouse if I don’t want to make a 360 turn every time I move my view. Same DPI and same settings that MSFS
Tried it today
Still not fixed on my end
Yes this issue still persists. SU1 on PC.
This issue still persists on SU2, and also on SU3 beta.
“Enhance pointer precision” is unchecked in Windows settings, mouse options (Win10).
It is horrible, please give us an option to have linear response from mouse inputs in Cockpit camera and external camera.
Unfortunately still exists yes, its the only reason i haven’t switched to FS24 since launch, still playing on FS20. Haven’t done a single flight with 24, waiting to hear that horrible issue is fixed.
Still broken as of 04.07.2025
Hi.
I don’t have this issue anymore.
I’m not sure what you mean.
Since SU2 I think the problem was fixed as reported at least on PC.
I do have a bit of lag but that’s normal.
I have one to one linear movement of the mouse. No induced acceleration.
The difference was very noticible after SU2.
The problem before was agravated with the sim sttuters and VRAM always on max. Panning a view we got crazy jumps. And the problem was there even with good performance.
Now it’s very nice.
I did turn down the mouse axis sensitivity in the controller settings since the beggining and didn’t touch it anymore even after the problem was fixed.
Cheers.
Not fixed (Sim Update 3 Beta 1.5.16.0)
Freelook Momentum setting is now in General, External Camera in the menu. They may have moved it since earlier releases.
BUT, even though I set it to Zero, there has been no improvement in the horizontal scrolling within the External View Mode. View angle still jumps terribly when I let go of the mouse buttons after even a reasonably small adjustment, say 10 degrees of the view. Vertical adjustments are smooth and linear with no surprises.
I found that if I just hold the mouse buttons down and don’t move the mouse for about 10 seconds before releasing the buttons, then the view will stay where I put it. This is inconvenient in fast paced situations.
Oddly enough, I do not have any problem with mousing around in the Cockpit View - it all works fine there. It’s only in External View that I have the problem.
BTW there is also a conflict in the menu regarding toggling of the External to Cockpit view modes. In menu Keyboard, External Camera there is Toggle External View. That one just doesn’t work for me. What does work is in Keyboard, Camera Mode Switches, Cockpit / External View Mode.
