Hi everyone,
I am experiencing a strange camera behavior in MSFS 2024 and I am wondering if this is a default simulator feature or a setting that I might have overlooked.
After a hard landing, the cockpit camera shifts forward, as if the pilot’s head is pushed toward the windshield due to the impact. The camera position stays slightly forward afterwards.
When I recall my saved custom cockpit view, the position immediately snaps back to the correct seating position, which makes me think the simulator applies some kind of temporary camera offset due to G-forces or impact simulation.
Things I already checked:
- Camera shake is off
- I am using a custom saved cockpit camera position
- The issue happens right after touchdown if the landing is harder than usual
- It looks like a forward head movement simulation
I am also using FSRealistic (Legacy version). However, in FSRealistic I have disabled the G-force effects, so it should not be coming from there.
In MSFS 2020 there used to be settings like Head Movement and G-Force Head Movement, but I cannot find these options anymore in MSFS 2024.
Current camera settings include:
- Freelook Momentum: 50
- Freelook Speed: 50
Before I start experimenting with every setting, I wanted to ask:
- Is this normal behavior in MSFS 2024?
- Is there a way to disable this head movement or forward camera shift on landing?
- Could this be related to Freelook Momentum or another camera inertia setting?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Stefan
