When selecting an aircraft to start cold and dark on the gate/ramp, it automatically appears on runway with engines and all systems on. The only way to get where you desire to place the plane cold and dark is selecting the desired start point many times, instead for one click like it was in the beginning of MSFS. How to fix that bug?
I think that launch bug is still with us. You have to get everything else set how you want it and then pick parking space then click fly. Picking parking space has to be last or it puts you on the runway.
If you forget and end up on the runway, Esc and restart the flight. That should start you cold and dark in the place you chose.
and that is exactly what I want to avoid and get a solution for⦠MSFS2020 has come to some point that first need to select an aircraft and livery, then a ramp or gate (sometimes picking the point few time or your will start from rw), and even now PMDG products are buged with yokes turned to left and all functions frozen, so we do need to restart and restart and restart⦠IT“S ANNOYING.
MSFS launching time: 4-5 minutes
Aircraft and start up point selection time: 1-2 minutes
Flight loading time: 1-2 minutes
I think the runway start bug is up to MS/Asobo to fix, though. I donāt know there is any workaround than to just follow the order of picking parking space last for now and until they fix it.
But donāt forget you can restart the flight and it will put you where you wanted. Canāt help you on the PMDG stuff. They will need to address that. Unfortunately itās a big inconvenience.
Maybe someone else has a trick or procedureā¦
I always pick the parking spot as my departure location first. Never had an issue starting C&D at that spot.
Of course thatās after I load the aircraft and set weather.
Ah, you pick your parking place āfirstā after setting up the flight?
But after you pick that parking spot, do you click on or do anything else before you click Fly?
I guess your issue is related to that existing report:
I definitely select my aircraft before picking the parking spot, and do not change it afterwards. Iāve never even considered changing aircraft after picking a parking spot for the current aircraft.
Iāll verify the steps when I get home tonight.
I have a bad habit of OMB (Old Man Brain) memory faults.
My steps for a cold & dark start:
- Profile ā My Hanger (select aircraft and livery)
- Welcome ā World Map ā Set Conditions
- Select departure parking spot
- Fly ā Ready to Fly
Thatās it. Cold & Dark every time.
It would be really nice to be able to change aircraft after clicking āFlyā but thatās never been possible, and I highly doubt it ever will be.
There is a way round this, but it involves an extra step. If you use flight plan software that allows you to select your departure parking space then the sim will always use this, even if you choose to go straight to runway yourself or msfs does.
I use little nav map. Define route, add starting park space (I think you can define arrival too but I donāt) then export it as msfs 2020 plan.
Load this plan into world map screen then make all the changes you want and even if msfs screen shows you starting on runway the sim will always load you in parking spot in flight plan.
Even if you restart flight it will do this.
