Colours, oh the Colours... =/

Hi.

Would it be possible to make some “mod” or “addon” to FS2020 which would help to get the correct colours calibrated? Like a chart or bars or…just anything. We need to get some sort of standard. How is the colurs in FS2020 calibrated and set? Wihouth the filter options in GF Experience, things looks both washed out and in wrong tint. Im just not sure which settings that seems “correct”. Since the world (bing) looks different all over the world, its hard to use ground and forest as the original source for colurs. Should be start tweaking colours by looking how the cockpits should be looking (and how should be know how it should look). Colours, blacks, shadows… its like a mess, not getting better when not using HDR since it changes when looking up etc - and still in a quite “bad way”, which I don like, personally. maybe HDR is the way to go over all? Hows your experience with colours in HDR by the way - and am I on to something? It could be a square colour shart in the sim you can pop out and adjust from. OR…should it be the same as the win system, and it would then be suffisent to adjust the win colours? AND (not done yet)… is FS2020 supporting 10-bit colurs when not in HDR? (an option I have for my LG screen).

Safe flying! =)

A modification of the sim’s core files to get proper coloring is currently under Beta testing, due for release with SU14.

Here is the quote from the release notes:

World

  • Used more realistic mapping of wave lengths onto RBG values for the ozone layer scattering and the sun color, resulting in more realistic colors of the sky and the lighting in the world.

Have some changes already been implemented outside the beta?

I was away from the sim for a few days, and last night (Nov 17th, 2023), my first impression of MSFS was that something had changed. The red lights across the end of some runways (Not the VASI’s) seemed to be more pink than red. The overall rendition of green in scenery areas well known to me appeared washed out, no longer rich.

I wondered if it was my computer, video card, monitor… whatever. But, this thread suddenly makes me wonder if something has changed in the core program.

I am not on the BETA.

Any clarification would be appreciated.
