Command to Launch WMR?

Is there a command that can launch WMR with the sim? I keep getting bit by launching the sim first and then I have to go through a full reload. I usually don’t notice until I’ve done flight planning.

I’ve tried following the shortcuts but they seem a bit buried into the system.

I’d like to put WMR in the launcher.

If you use the MSFS Addon Linker application you can add anything to start along with MSFS.

Of course there are other ways but this is probably your simplest option.

That’s the launcher I use. I just can’t figure out the WMR part.

try this:

start “” shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.MixedReality.Portal_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App

thats works for me in a shell script…

That did the trick! I had to call it with a batch file from Add on Linker to the power shell script.

I’m not sure I follow this thread, once the sim is loaded I’ll choose a airport cold and dark or make a flight plan, hit fly and then I’ll Alt Tab and I’m in VR ready to fly.

I didn’t even know linker could do that, I’ll set Voice Attack and MobiFlight up :+1:

I was just looking for a way to auto start windows mixed reality with the sim. If I launch the sim first and forget to launch WMR it causes audio problems. Others reported performance issues.

I may set Voice Attack up too. That way’s it’s not constantly listening to me

I love Linker! What it does is so simple, even though it has what seem like hundreds of settings.

I assume you have an Oculus headset or similar, not WMR, as at Oculus it indeed works this way. A Reverb G2 for example needs you to start WMR first though. I use a batch file too if I want to fly in VR, starting WMR first, then running a 5 second timer to let it stabilize and then launch the sim.

The curse of running a Microsoft app together with a Microsoft app in a Microsoft OS… This never works well.

LOL, I was used to how easy Oculus through Virtual Desktop was. It took me a while to get the process worked out with WMR.

Nope I have a G2, Alt Tab open WMR straight into MSFS

with the sound switching to the headset?? If I do that I don’t have any sound.
