For the tech folks, rather than empty your Community File every time there is an update, is it possible to just put a couple or 00’s or XX’s in front of it, and putting in a new “Empty” community folder so the Program doesn’t see the full one at start-up. I did try this “after” this last round of Update and subsequent CTD’s and while I believe I suffer from the same USB Peripheral issue as others, I did notice that MSFS did boot up and also the opening Black copywrite screen was only visible for a couple seconds, rather than the Minute or so it’s there when you have a Packed Community Folder as I do. Just curious, as this may save a lot of time in the future as the program grows and so does the availability of things to go in that folder! (I did remove all the Aircraft, GPS, and Liveries before installing the Update)
That should work, as long as the program doesn’t freak out because of an unknown folder - which I don’t assume it would, as it would have to actually check for an unknown folder for that problem to arise.
I’ve done a similar thing, but with an individual file in a mod to prevent it from loading.
That is exactly what I do.
I have 3 folders
Official
Community
Disabled
I just move stuff to and from the Disabled folder. The sim only watches the first 2 folders, anything else is ignored.
Note: I say move (not copy) as that is effectively just a rename operation on the filesystem so it is instant.
