Community folder not recognised

`Since Update 4 the items in the community folder are not showing up in the sim. I have located the folder and all the items I have placed there are present. But no scenenies, no liveries or mods are showing up in the sim. I looked in dev mode and it shows the community folder is present on the drive the sim is installed to. Any help please.

I have exactly the same problem. Is your community folder in the defautl position? I had moved my CF somewhat up on the drive, to get shorter links/file-names. My config.opt still points to the new location. The update did not change that. So, the addons should be present, but are not. Mike.

Yep Comm folder is in the default position. I have this morning submitted a support request so hopefully I will have some help with this matter.

Show me the last line in the file UserCfg.opt

InstalledPackagesPath “D:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-526279317-2732062819-2334556817-1001\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb38bbwe”

in addition: aircraft-addons in the CF do work fine, but scenery or airports are missing, even after fresh exctration to the community folder. Mike.

Not just scenery and or airports missing but liveries and the working title mods for the CRJ4, the G1000 and G3000.

[1] Look in this location:
C:\Users*YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages*
What do you see there?
[2] Why did you not install in the default location?

I have had a reply from Microsoft support and they have said "The first time you setup the game you chose the installation path. This is the folder that the launcher is scanning to retrieve the content. If the launcher finds that this folder is empty or missing it will try downloading the missing packages. If you install additional packages outside of his folder the launcher will not be able to retrieve the corresponding content. To fix this issue please update the UserCfg.opt file to point the launcher to the correct folder. Scroll down to the last line which says InstalledPackagesPath etc then update or delete the line. If you delete the line then you will be asked to choose the installation path the next time you launch the sim.

How many free space is there on the C-drive?

In Packages there is a Community and a One Store folder. I do not have enough space on my C drive.

I experienced this issue when I moved items in and out of the community folder rather than copying. They inherited some permissions when I moved them (cut/paste) and they became the permissions blocked the sim from reading.

You can double check this by going into community folder and opening some the mod manifest files (text files). If you can open them ok then the sim should be able to read them.

From now on I always delete items from community folder and then copy/paste from different location when I add new ones.

Hope this makes sense. Might not be the issue you have but worth checking just in case.

The issue has been resolved by following the instructions sent to me by Micrsoft support as I mentioned previously. Yes J1mb0G5751 I always delete the community folder before doing an update and copy and paste from a backup folder.
