Comparison start-up times MSFS2020 and MSFS2024

Just carried out a back to back comparison between the start-up time of MS20 and MS24.
MS24 - Launch time 1m32sec
Total time to “Start” screen 5m12sec

MS20 - Launch time 50sec
Total time to “World Map” screen 8m25sec

For 24, my launch time is much the same as yours. Total time has varied between 2.5 to about 5 mins (I don’t have great Internet, the only way I can get 100+ is between midnight and 7am or so, rest of day is anywhere from 15-50). Plus old graphics card - RTX 2080 Super and 32gb DDR4 2666 RAM. CPU is Intel i7 8700.

I started up 20 earlier today though I didn’t time it. I would say about 4 mins and never (I think!) something like 8 mins+

Are these times community folders empty for both sims?

Talk about good timing - I just posted this in another thread.

And I always test load times with an empty Community folder - it’s pointless to do otherwise IMO.

Hmmm I had two aircraft in the Community folder for both the MS20 and MS24
My internet at the moment is recording 250Mbs download.
(There are obviously a LOT of aircraft being down load in the “Official Folders”!)

FS24.
From desktop to Start time: 1m 50s.
From Main map to in cockpit: 35-35 seconds.

That’s with 5 airports and 4 aircraft in Community. About 20 folders in community all up.

Infrequently it may be a bit slower by maybe 20 seconds.

I have good hardware and 1gb Ethernet and am in Australia. I’ve seen others with not much worse specs say they get far slower startup times than me. So I have trouble making sense of it. I’d have thought Microsoft would have fixed capacity issues by now…
