Wow!!! I know there are a lot of bugs and issues but I cannot believe the beauty of flying above a huge storm with the sun setting over Cape Town to George in the A320. Perhaps we forget, amongst all the technical frustrations, how much effort and creativity has gone into the sim.
It really is something to celebrate. Well done to everybody involved.

Thanks. I think sometimes we all get too focused on complaining all the time - Covid, politics, life - I know I do. Sometimes just good to smell the coffee and appreciate all the good things that do actually work.

Agreed, had a flawless flight yesterday, Lisbon → Dublin in my TAP Air Portugal Flybywire A32NX. Simbrief flight plan, Navigraph charts, PACX. It was great!

When I first got married, I told my wife I loved her almost every day. We’ve been married for 47 years now. I don’t say it nearly as much as I used to or as often as I should. When I do she still appreciates it and I feel good too.
Does it matter how many times we have a positive post that “goes nowhere”. I would hope that OP didn’t post to start a conversation or a debate but to merely say thank-you and remind us that we actually have something pretty amazing.
If you do not feel that thanks is warranted then don’t comment. There is no need to derail a positive post just because you disagree.
Thank-you @StingRayzow for taking the time to remind us that we do have something that deserves some applause, warts and all.

Indeed. I’m actually one of those that rarely if ever complain because I understand the massive undertaking with such project. Just today I was thinking, In order to make any simulator look so realistic by including true videos of streets, landscapes, etc. of the world within the sim you would need hundreds if not thousands of people to film the globe. Imagine trying to fix satellite imagery from every part of the world, it’s really not easy. With good amount of bugs there’s so much anyone can do. I’ve always put this in mind when they said prior to launching that “it’s a 10 year project” not a launch and forget project.
The main issue I’m experiencing, other than VR, is approaching the airports with stutter and can ruin the immersion and landing attempts but I know they’re going to test performance very soon.
I run this beauty in 4K at high and couple ultra settings and overall it’s smooth and crisp. Especially when I set the monitor color to full in the Nvidia control panel. It’s saturated and colors true to life. Very stunning indeed!

Yes, on reflection, it was somewhat churlish of me. I guess it’s just my disappointment coming out.

Hi All couldn’t agree more with the positive comments.
It is astounding what Microsoft , Asobo and 3rd party developers have accomplished so far.
Yes there are issues, but to the complainers I would say get used to it, because flight simulation is always going to be at the forefront of development and will always have issues because the battle with technology is ongoing.
The art is to get to a point where you ENJOY what you can at a point in that ongoing journey, I’m at that point happy with the setup I can afford and enjoying the Avation World the developers have created.

In all seriousness and with all understanding that this sim has still a certain way to go, it has a lot of beauty, We can’t use it yet the same way we were or are used to with P3D or XPlane. But maybe, just maybe, it’s also a chance to look further. I was bored of sightseeing flights in P3D, the constant 737 and A320 nearly bored me to death too. I am a RW single engine / ultralight pilot and I’m used to do a very different flight preparation than I used to do for the heavy jets in P3D. I started to approach the sim the same as I do in RL. And I found so much joy following coasts, rivers or highways in 2000ft in these small aircraft we have got amazing mods for. Also the recently released DC-6 is a completely different flying and honestly I forget about the flaws and issues the sim still has when I fly these aircraft. It’s the perfect opportunity to change the way we fly in the sim, or better to expand it. MSFS isn’t P3D 6 or XP12. It’s MSFS2020 and it’s different. Commit to this difference and you might be able to get the joy back.

Hard to enjoy the beauty of this sim when the frames drops from 30 to 18.
Sorry but not everyone is been able to enjoy what this sim has to offer due to the badly optimization.

then fix your settings !!! a lot of people just run with too high settings, so there is no
overhead.

It doesn’t matter what settings I use,right now I’m using High-End settings and won’t make a difference.

Totally agree with you! I was flying between Bergen and Stavanger these days and it really feels like Norway!
And the FBW team, they’ve done a great job! Even though I’m taking a small break from the big jets, I love that plane and can’t wait to fly it again.
Just one more pic then
Approach to ENTO in the 320NX (before the world update)

The seanery is great to but the sim sucks!
Pretty unnecessary. Thanks for your participation.

Mind shining a little light on why/how it sucks in your opinion?
Obviously what the team behind MSFS has accomplished raised the bar for flight simulation… it is not perfect but that doesn’t mean it sucks.
Name one simulation on the market capable of matching MSFS2020…
Sure, there are some great sims out there with impressive content/mods, many of which I own, but they are dated and lack the innovative core features required to live up to todays demands.

What, exactly, is your point?
I love this sim too. Yes it’s not perfect, but I just love putting on my VR goggles and doing another leg of my world tour and just admiring everything that this sim is. And I know it will only continue to get better. It seems that Asobo listen to their community and continue make improvements based on the feedback.
I flew in X-Plane for about 20 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was interesting to see how that developed over that time. Just when I thought I might be over simming, they brought out a new update to reinvigorate my interest.
But VR in MSFS with it’s beautiful scenery, amazing weather and atmospherics is just a whole new level, and a wonderful escape from reality for a while. And landing a plane, even a little Cessna, will never stop being a buzz

What disappointment? It’s literally a sim under construction…how do people STILL not understand that after almost a year.
