I had a crash-to-reboot problem when starting the sim about a week ago after an OS update. I pulled the CMOS battery to reset my BIOS to factory, started the computer. Rechecked for any OS, driver, etc. updates. Ran DISM and SFC. I then restarted into the BIOS and reapplied my overclocks, fan curves, etc. It has been fine ever since.
It doesn’t make sense that a BIOS reset fixed the reboot problem, but somewhere between OS updates, hardware driver updates, sim updates, and the shotgun security patches Microsoft has had to issue in light of all of the recent cyber attack vulnerabilities, something somewhere got jacked, and letting the BIOS start over fresh at factory settings one time made it better.
