To say to everyone who replied to my post, a big thank you for all the suggestions. The problem has now been fixed, not by me. A Microsoft support agent done a remote access to my PC, and fixed the problem. I could not see what he was doing as he was flicking through all the settings so fast. FS2020 now starts from the FS2020 desktop icon and runs fine. All the best to all.
