I purchased the FS24 Aviator version.
I have all the associated FS24 upgrades in my Library, enabled and streaming.
Additionally, in my FS24 Library I have the following MSFS 2020 Upgrades:
MSFS 2020 Deluxe Upgrade
MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe Upgrade
MSFS 2020 Premium Upgrade
Do I enable the MSFS 2020 upgrades as well?
Would that create duplications or conflicts?
EDIT…
So>>>
- I went in and enabled all the MSFS 2024 Content and Upgrade bundles. I have the Aviator, so that is all the upgrades. I was surprised to see that some of the individual items in the upgrade bundles had not been enabled. No idea how that happened. I went through them all individually and made sure everything is enabled.
- I then went through all the MSFS 2020 Upgrade bundles and looked to see that what was in those bundles was already enabled in the MSFS2024 content. It was with an exception.
Exception
(Cessna) C172SP-Classic [Unverified]
To the best of my knowledge if you enable all the FS24 content only that exception is not in the FS24 bundles..
EDIT 2
And after closing the program and starting it back up again…a lot of the FS24 content is disabled AGAIN…
Why?
I don’t know that MS and Asobo could have done a better job of making a ■■■■■ of FS24. It is very frustrating.
EDIT 3
I moved over to the Xbox platform (from steam) and the whole issue went away. The proper updates were enabled and all the content is there…so my guess is…the disabling of content had something to do with steam, or the fresh install was what was needed.
For myself, I did not get the entire number of aircraft in the Aviator edition until I enabled the 2020 planes. I am informed that the planes in the Aviator edition are the planes we get for the extra costly edition of the top 2020 version. I don’t know if that is true.
Bearing in mind I had bought the 2020 top edition 2 years before but never actually used it because I just could not get the velocity one gear I had at the time to work - it was faulty. So I just did not use it out of frustration.
Your situation might be different - If my info is correct I am wondering how yours are upgraded without downloading 2020.

Well I did a little test to see if I could figure it out. I noticed that the Cessna Longitude did not show up unless I enabled the MSFS 2020 upgrades. It is there now.
So I have to guess that other planes that are duplicated in the two different versions (20 vs 24) upgrades are worked out so we have the version from the FS24 overwriting the MSFS2020?
I have no idea..but typically, they made it confusing. I suppose I could go back through all the MSFS2020 upgrade bundles and figure out which planes are in the FS24 upgrades and disable the MSFS2020 versions?
LoL…its like MS tries so hard to make me hate them.
Yes, so confusing and a bit of a cheek to give us the planes from the previous version and make us pay for them twice! I have not flown them all, but I did have a go in the Japanese MU2. That was a lovely little plane but yet to figure out all of the functions
Yea…good points. Have not flown that Mitsubishi MU-2 yet. I will have to give it a go.
Have fun!

There’s typically no reason to enable the 2020 versions of premium/deluxe aircraft. If you chose to enable one of them, the corresponding 2024 version will be disabled. You can’t have both versions active at the same time,
I am really confused now. I was told to enable the aviator to get all of the planes which were absent for me. The only planes in that section of my library were the 2020 planes.
I’m not talking about Aviator, I’m talking about premium/deluxe planes, which were parts of different version of the 2020 base sim.
The Aviator specific planes were sold as Famous Flyers, Local Legends, etc. in FS2020. Those planes have not (yet) received any 2024 native versions, so they are all 2020 versions, and have to be enabled, for you to use them.

Ok …so then this is really beyond stupid on MS part…
I have to go through all the MSFS 2020 upgrade packages and compare the content (which includes more than just planes by the way) to the MSFS 2024 upgrade content, and then disable the MSFS 2020 duplicates? Also, any new FS24 regular content that matches 2020 content….
That is unbelievably lame on MSFS part.
On top of that, I heard someone say today that part of the reason FS24 is running poorly is because it is managing two different builds (MSFS2020 and FS24) at the same time. At first I thought, that cannot be right, but then…it’s a logical deduction. And they said if you pull out the MSFS2020 content it runs much better.
It’s because the base 2020 sim is the code they used to build 2024. Large parts of 2020 are 2024. 2024 is now being rebuilt to accomodate prospective extended uses with the advent of modern tech. I believe they made a commitment to support 2020 for some years but not sure how many that is. I am sure they will dump it at some point as they did previous versions once 2024 is fully, I say this advisedly, functional.
Yes, in the meantime we have to live with the anomalies that are 2024!

I think you’re overthinking this. I don’t know what you have enabled or not, but by default, the 2024 versions are enabled, and you don’t have to do anything.
If, however, you have enabled any 2020 versions of the premium/deluxe content, then you would have to re-enable the 2024 version, and when you do so, the 2020 version would be disabled, since you can only have one version active at a time.
