Well, perhaps not most airliners at larger airports, but smaller planes and/or smaller airports do fly procedure turns all the time. And we train hard to do so.
That’s correct. I’d go further to say that you shouldn’t put the ILS in the plan. General practice is to wait until you get the ATIS or “expect” from ATC.
That said, I wouldn’t trust the ATC in the sim any farther than I can throw it.
