Constant crashes since SU14

Since SU14, I can’t fly anymore. I get constant CTDs while flying, sometimes after a few seconds, sometimes after 20 minutes. Most of the time, I get this error:

fscrash

I think I have tried everything:

  • Empty Community folder
  • Antivirus off
  • Removed nvidia driver with DDU (in windows safe mode) and reinstalled the old 535.98 version known for working well here
  • Tried flying at another airport

Note that I use DX11 and always have.

I don’t know what else to try. I fear this is a bug in SU14.

Are u using DirectX 12?
If so switch to 11. Restart the sim.

As the warning noted, do you have any overclock on?

This is the first of a series of CTD checklists that are a good place to start:

No overclock here.

There is a bug report, not sure if some posts there can help:

Do you have the latest graphic drivers installed for your card ?

I had the latest at first, and many crashes. So reverted to a previous one, known to work well here, no changes.

Well, what I said was not exact. I had MSI afterburner running, as usual.
So I closed it. I was able to run a 45 minutes flight, but it crashed at the end, without any warning/error displayed.

In event viewer, I first see this in the system log:

The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

Then this:

The server Windows.Gaming.GameBar.PresenceServer.Internal.PresenceWriter did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

And then in the application logs:

It seems I have fixed the issue with some last long flights without any issue under desktop or VR.

How? I renamed my UserCfg.opt file and let the sim create a new one. Then I restored more or less the same settings as before (I also restored the latest nvidia drivers and all my community folder). It’s as if SU14 didn’t like something in the file.

Thanks, trying to to this too. I’m out of solution for this issue
