The problem is: I have now changed my motherboard, CPU (to 9800X3D) and PSU, tried different RAM kits - and nothing at all changes. Not after multiple windows reinstalls - nothing. Exact same behavior…

Do you still have a PC “crash”?
Yes, black screen as described.
Please provide:
- full hardware configuration
- version of Windows (including the build number)
- list of software that launch at startup
I have same specs as yours. I am getting consistent CTD on startup with BOTH 2020 and 2024. I sometimes get BSODs out of nowhere with zero addons installed. I have a backup 12900KS and 3080 TI. Swapped those in, same problems even with a fresh Windows reinstall. Tried different motherboard. Tried different powersupply. Tried different ram kits. NOTHING WORKS!
I never had black screens on 4090 and 3080 TI before December 2024.
My first symptoms were blackscreens on startup. Now I just get CTD immediately on startup.
Currently (I’ll be returning this CPU & MB since my old hardware didn’t cause the issue):
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
32 GB DDR5 5200 Corsair Vengeance RAM
ASUS TUF Radeon RX6800XT
1200 W modern PSU by bequite
Gigabyte B850 WIFI 7 Elite MB with up to date BIOS
Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26100 Build 26100
This is my Startup config. After likely close to 10 Windows reinstallations over the past few months, I’m now on a system that’s practically as clean as possible. Steam, the Sim, Discord, Chrome. And Cities Skyline for CPU performance evaluation, that’s pretty much all that’s even installed in total.
MSFS2024 only for now, since that it the most critical sim (although I have occasionally experienced this crashing behavior in 2020 as well, during the last few months. No addons, no Navigraph or anything.

Do you have the possibility to install Windows 10? Testing new PC components is not recommended on Windows 11.
Well I’m sure there is some way to do that, but not an obvious one to my knowledge.
But I’m also skeptical as to how that would solve the issue. This seems to either be a hardware defect or some sort of insane driver issue, which I don’t know how to resolve.
If you do have any additional peripherals, could you please provide the exact model names of all of them?

i experience horrible stutters while playing and loading
even after i close msfs i have horrible stutters when its not even on in the background, never had bsod until i launched this game for the first time i recommend not playing this game as it might physically harm your pc

CTD and even Crash to reboot!

Getting constant CTD ive been so desperate ive bought game on steam and on official webite using the xbox app on pc.

Just to add another user who also has too many Crashes to desktop just like that and out of nothing
I, like so many here, had a pc reboot every flight after about 10-15 minutes of operation. I wanted to pull my hair out because I had tried everything that I could find in the forums to no avail. Long story short, I replaced my 700w psu with a new 1200w and to my suprise, no more crashes. I must have been running right on the edge and MSFS 2024 was putting enough stress on my system that it couldn’t keep up. Hope this can help someone else.

I have same issues here.
OK here is a mystery. I simply can’t even load any airport in MSFS2024 without a CTD on the start up map scene anywhere in the North America, South America and Europe. But I can load any airport in Hawaii and do Island hopping with no CTD. I also seem to be able to fly in Africa. I am doing a 300 mile flight in Saudi Arabia now with no CTD. When I land, I’ll try to move to JFK and I will immediately get CTD when airport loads. WHY??? I have empty community folder and disabled all airports recently bought in Library. And I am not choosing a major city in the US, just some regional airport in USA gives me CTD. Asobo - explain that to me. FYI - I have MSFS2020 in same computer as MSFS2024 13900K CPU/4090 card and in 2020 I can fly forever without CTD inMSDS2020. I think the issue lies in the streaming data. I wish I can load my entire world scenery on my HD.

same thing here 9950x3d with 5090 after 15-20 min crash to desktock or freese…i have msfs2020 in the same pc with no problem…
