As the title says, all the planes I’ve flown exhibit a constant rolling motion left and right, as if it’s tying to simulate turbulence.
My yoke and rudder pedals are calibrated and sensitivity set. I’ve set weather to clear skies and eliminated all clouds and wind layers.
I’ve been watching Squirrels YouTube tutorial and notice his planes don’t exhibit this behavior. Am I missing something in settings?
Any help would be appreciated.
Gordon
PS: My yoke is a Honeycomb, and rudder pedals are Thrustmaster TPR Pendular.
Yes, I bet you have AP heading lock enabled.
The AP is too sensitive and it keeps “hunting” to remain on the current heading , rocking slightly left and right constantly.
Please report it to the zendesk. The more reports they get, the higher the priority to fix it.
You said nothing about “autopilot” in your post, so I doubt this has anything to do with it.
I found the same phenomenon with I first flew in this thing. I’ve dialed my controller (yoke, rudders) sensitivities WAYYYYY back now, and things are much more civilized.
You’re right. The AP is off. The 152 doesn’t even have a an AP. I’ll play around with the sensitivity.
Thanks guys for your help.
I am experiencing the same issue. All my peripheral‘s were disabled to make sure they weren’t the issue. AP not engaged. It’s like a constant turbulence. BTW wind layer deleted so no turbulence should exist. Found “camera shake” in the view menu and disabled it thinking that would solve the issue but it only dampened it some. Frustrating.
I’m getting the same but only when close (ish) to hills. Although the amount of turbulence given the low wind speed seems very exaggerated.
I ve tried some configurations in options> general> flight model and change from “Legacy” to “Modern”. I think it is better
I have been experiencing the same issue. Logitech/Saitek yoke system. Immediately after takeoff I know the plane pulling/rolling pretty hard to the right. It can be corrected by applying a steady left roll, but there is obviously something going on here. I thought it was perhaps wind, but deleted any wind inputs and still is rolls. I’m not sure if it’s deadzone issues or sensitivity. (seems like the yoke is electronically uncentered). I’m not sure how to calibrate it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Makes flying annoying and landing very challenging
I had the same problem.
Try the “Legacy” flight model instead of “Modern”.
Thanks to Ericobmm:
It resolve the pb for me without changing the sensibility of my joystick
Just wondering if this is to do with the trim settings.
If you set elevator trim the C152 correctly for level flight in the real plane the pitch will oscillate because as the nose drops speed builds and lift increases, so the nose rises again. As the speed falls the lift drops and the nose falls back. This seems to me to be modeled in the sim, although I find the trim a bit too sensitive.
To some extent this applies to roll, as the angle of attack of the wing changes in roll affecting lift, and a similar though less pronounced oscillation occurs. A dihedral wing like the C152 is designed to enhance this stability; the lower wing has a higher AOA then the higher. Maybe this has been modeled too, and needs 'tuning a little.
The yaw (to the left not the right) during take off run is due to the prop wash which pushes against the aircraft’s tail and is normal. It is controlled by use of the rudder, and is well modeled in the sim.
