Content missing, can't be downloaded

Hello everyone,

I’ve encountered an issue a few weeks back where planes were suddenly missing after a version update. They could not be downloaded through the content manager and reinstalling the sim several times did not resolve the issue. I’ve recently retried since I’ve hoped that a newer software version might have remedied the issue, but to no avail. The initial installation process goes through, but then only two planes are present in the hangar. After starting to install all the missing content in the content manager, around 40 of 120 missing files fail to finish due to non-existent files as is detailed in the info box next to the content field shown below.

I’ve tried limiting or unlimiting the download speed as well as restarting several times and raising the page file size to 64GB. What else can there be done? This issue is prevailing for several weeks now and it’s extremely frustrating to deal with. The installed version is 1.12.13.0. The sim was purchased through Steam. When performing a data integrity check through the Steam client, the sim just redownloads everything after starting it again and everything repeats itself.

This is what it looks like at the end. As can be seen, a huge chunk of data is just skipped and then the download stops at a few bytes, never finishing. Also, the world updates never complete the download…

I get the same problem with various downloads. Some that were supposed to come with Premium Deluxe but wouldn’t download, like the 787, which finally did work after the 2nd or 3rd attempt. Others took more attempts and finally worked. Any time this didn’t work, I got the same as posted above. And some still won’t update no matter how many times I’ve tried. The following screen shots are one such example as well as verification that the version I have is later than what it requires:

I’ve finally managed to resolve it by downloading or “buying” the free content from the market place first. Then, the data could finally be downloaded via the content manager, although many files failed when selecting them all at once. Restarting the game and/or PC and selecting/downloading the files manually worked in the end. Maybe give this a try as well if you haven’t already.

I did “purchase” the free packs before downloading and that’s when I posted my comment. However, I also came here with a workaround…

Restarting the game didn’t work. Nor did restarting the computer. This has been going on for days. However, I got a few of the last stubborn ones by downloading one, letting it fail, then selecting that one again, clicking ‘Cancel’, and then downloading it again. Might be a fluke/luck but it worked for 2 out of 3 of the remaining stubborn packs.

After I started having problems I definitely started doing them one at a time, which seems to help. Same with the trick above. There are still a couple that won’t work, which is too bad but they’re not particularly important to me. Glad I didn’t pay for them and that I was able to download all the stuff that was owed for the Premium Deluxe edition.

Thanks for the reply! Hopefully this will help someone else too.

Interesting, I could not cancel downloads that were stuck, they would not react at all and I had to restart the sim. However I’m glad it worked out in the end for you, good luck in the future!
