I have a soft spot for 3 hole jets ![]()
I have a soft spot for Dassault Falcon-looking forward to flying the Contrail 50 in spite of them not getting any sort of license from Dassault Aviation-so far only Dassault Aviation given licenses for their military fighter jets for MSFS to devs and not their bizjets, that’s why we haven’t seen a 7X or 8X.
Wilco did an officially licensed Falcon business jet (7X I think it was) some years back but it wasn’t very good. Probably ruined any hope of another developer ever getting an official license to produce another one.
Not necessarily true as Azurepoly have the Dassult licence. I would hope they look into a Falcon as it would be hugely popular.
Aerobask is doing an 8X with Dassault for XP, but they been doing it for almost 7 years now
Interesting, I’ll have to look into that. I don’t really follow what’s going on in the world of XPlane too much but it’s good to know Dassault is still working with flight sim developers. Maybe there’s hope for us on the MSFS platform yet.
I’d love for Azurpoly to get a license to bring us a 7X/8X. A 6X was a wishlist item back in 2024 for some time.

I think you posted in the wrong thread. This is about the Falcon corporate jet.
do you have a link to those reviews? I haven’t seen any
My bad, 2nd look, reactions to the screenshots from 4 and 8 months ago, not reviews. I’ve edited my earlier post. ![]()
Can’t wait for this thing to finally release. Has there been any clue as to what month, year, millennium, they’re going to release it?
Difficult to say, it seems fairly complete but some autopilot and other systems need some tweaks. I’m signed up to their Discord now, so I can keep an eye on things more closely. ![]()
A new update from Contrail via their Discord:
Another FA50 development update for @everyone - and this time we have some genuinely encouraging news on where things stand.
Testing is going well. We’ll be releasing one of the last beta versions tomorrow (Friday) ((8th May)), and we’re confident we can hand out a release candidate within the next two weeks. While we don’t have a firm release date yet, we’re getting closer, and our target is still Q2 of this year.
Since the last update, extensive testing has driven even more work into the systems - particularly the autopilot and flight planner, both of which have seen significant refinement.
We’ve also integrated new systems, most notably the weather radar. We’re simulating a true weather radar including SU5’s new Tilt feature (MSFS 2024 only), which can be displayed on the EHSI. In addition, the MX20 and GNSXLS can show datalink weather - the kind of broadcast weather products that, in the real world, are typically fed via XM/SiriusXM aviation weather receivers and are commonly seen on retrofitted Falcon 50s.
On the visual side, the galley and cabin are now complete, and interior LODs are currently being worked on. We’ll be sharing dedicated screenshots of the cabin and galley soon.
For everyone working FBOs and ramps, there are a few features that should be especially appealing:
- The Fueling Panel, allowing you to fuel the aircraft yourself
- The “OK TOW / NO TOW” sign tied to parking brake status
- A torque link connect/disconnect feature
- A pushback feature currently in development to simulate ground handling even further
A native GSX profile is included to ensure full compatibility, and animated passengers can board the plane.
The screenshots below are raw and fresh from the sim, captured during last night’s ops with N156RE - known to many from the YouTube channel Airstat with Perry. They show the weather radar in action, along with another feature we’ve recently added: logo lights.
More updates to follow as we move into the final stretch

Looks like we’re getting close. Will make a fine addition to my 3 holer collection, TriStar, MD11 and soon this. ![]()
Yes, Knight, this one will be an instabuy for me! it looks gorgeous.
Will be basing the FA50 out at Dreamflight Teterboro v2!
Same here. The Falcon 50 is one of those jets I’d actually use a lot in 2024 because it fills that older IFR business jet niche really well. Between this and a solid Phenom 300E, the business jet lineup would feel a lot healthier.
