I’ve got a few issues and wanted to see if anyone else is having these issues.
The default Cessna 172 with steam gauges; Roll Axis does not work at all. Trim wheel appears to do it’s own thing and will not move using joystick controls nor mouse wheel hover and roll. Also get a random high pitch beeping (stall maybe) when trying to move the yoke.
The Just Flight Arrow III trim wheel does not move. Yoke button in sim moves appropriately to joystick button actuation, but trim wheel will not move nor will the trim indicator. trim wheel does not work with mouse hover and roll as well. Reaching out to Just Flight, they say the aircraft is working fine on their end and that it’s a MSFS problem.
I’ve tested all other default and 3rd party aircraft (IndiaFoxTecho, Carenado) I own. No other aircraft are experiencing any of these behaviors.
I do not have any mods or anything in the community folders and am currently running on a reinstall.
Actually, it sound like a problem that may be unique to you or your PC.
For me, the Default C172 steam works fine … Trim works as expected, as well as Joystick, and all Mouse over area in the cockpit (provide you in the appropriate view)
The comment “Also get a random high pitch beeping (stall maybe) when trying to move the yoke” may indicate that it may be “Pilot Error”
Check airspeed ( Greater than 60 knots ), and position of trim wheel (Trim wheel should be “near” center & NOT be at an End Stop)
If AP is on, turn it off, and get the Airspeed up, and the trim near to center, and then the plane should fly in a controllable manner)
Make sure MIXTURE is rich (all the way in) and Throttle FULL (all the way out) & altitude is low ( 1000 - 3000ft when testing.)
The testing of these aircraft as well as all the working aircraft I had done was on the runway at a complete stop with parking brake set, with a 2 knot headwind. Trim indicator was near the takeoff position. Stall warning should not be sounding. Furthermore, The other aircraft did not share the same problems. Problems were identified/realized after installing the JF Arrow III.
I figured out what the problem was… and it couldn’t have been any more obvious. Looking back at my steam 172, I found that the autopilot window had ROL in the window. switching off the avionics master, I found that problem was fixed… I remembered when I set up my throttle, I set up the A/P hold modes on a throttle 3 way switch. Loading everything up again, I turned off the switch and the problem was suddenly fixed. Same thing for the Arrow III. Thank you for your input.
