Control settings disappear after sim restart

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

1. Description of the issue:
   Every time I customise a setting in the control tab, a new profile is created. Every time I restart the sim, I don’t find there and I have to do it all over again.

2. If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
   C172 skyhawk

3. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
   no add ons

REPRODUCTION STEPS

1. open Controls
2. change any setting
3. click ok on the new preset config
   restart the sim

Yes, Controls settings are buggy. Even you Reset profile…all mappings are back when selecting other General profile.
It’s joke what they deployed as finished software.

I am having the same problem. Sometimes, all is fine and another time, all is gone. Where is the profile saved, why can’t it be saved somewhere local?

I have the same problem with new profiles disappearing and new ones being created. It happens when you modify a setting or change aircraft. It’s annoying.

Really disappointed that this level of bug wasn’t caught or fixed before release. I would say that msfs 2024 is still in the beta stage and another year late to market by the time it’s fixed. Being late and buggy is no bueno.

If you installed your simulator to anything other than the default, make sure to edit the last line of your User.cfg file to read:

“InstalledPackagesPath “*drive and folder where you previously installed your sim last time”*”

I have the same error - I keep being prompted to create new a profile when I try to add in a few bindings that have disappeared from a previous session.

Poking about, I saw that presets/profiles can be imported/exported. So I downloaded one - they’re XML files.

Opening in a browser, I see a parsing error

…so I’m guessing this is the issue. Thoughts:

• I can see no mention online of this file type, importing or exporting, let alone parsing errors, so I guess this bug is a rare one.
• If we knew how to fix the parsing error, we could edit the xml files locally and upload. Any clues?
• As the profiles are saved in the cloud (excruciatingly slowly at present), there seems little point reinstalling the sim.

Just started sim after a few days without using sim and every ■■■■■■■■ setting has been reset!! What a sim
