When holding the RT or LT triggers to any analogue position (between nothing and fully depressed), as soon as you stop moving the trigger the rudder jumps from that analogue position (say 50%) to full 100% in that direction.
This clearly is a bug, as it is tied directly any continuous input from the gamepad. As soon as you stop pressing inputs either on the rudder buttons, or spinning the thumbstick for example, the rudder will jump to full. So when trying to maintain any rudder position it starts jumping erratically.
Above is a video of the exact issue. You can first see the rudder depressed fully to show it works. Then partially depressed and you see the jumping, then when moving the ailerons at the same time you can see smooth, analogue input with the rudders is possible and impossible once input stops.

I’ve noticed this also. Have you logged a Zendesk ticket yet?

Controller triggers are not recognized as axis.
Sensitivity can only be adjusted for both sticks, but not the triggers.

Yeah this is a huge problem, but it’s really weird how it clearly reads the analogue input correctly as long as you’re sending input, but then gives up

Is this a problem with all controllers? I’m using an xbox 360 controller and definitely noticed it

Seems to be a problem at least on all xbox controllers.

I’ve created a bug report for this to the devs, and also linked the thread within the report. Please post here, if you are also having. this issue.

Also having this issue! Glad I am not the only one.(Xbox one controller on PC through Steam)
I have also created a bug report, let’s hope they see it
I think we have almost a dozen threads about this issue.
Maybe mods can combine them.
File a bug report to zendesk.

interlink elite controller having yoke control issued also
I can also confirm that my rudders are treated as a button, not an axis, for the first gen xbox one elite controller.

The problem I have is it actually switches between an axis and button for me, depending on if I’m continuously inputting
Yup I’m getting exactly the same problem here. At first I thought it was just reading the triggers at digital in a gitchy kinda way, but looking again I can see it’s working fine(ish) as long as I don’t stop moving the triggers.
It’s a very odd bug as the triggers work perfectly in FSX and seeing as this is supposed to be coming out for Xbox eventually you’d have thought they’d have tested if Xbox controllers work with the sim.
