I had a look the sound options, I normally skip them. There is a headphone simulation, which is bleeding awesome. It will save whats left of my hearing.
But another cool feature is that we can play sim sounds through the main sound device but send headset sound through the main comms device in windows. So we can have sim sounds going through a surround sound system but still have headset comms just through the headset. Freaking fantastic.

Yeah i use this feature, its really great
My virtual voice is female. How to switch it for male?
Is your pilot or AI pilot (radio/comm) setup for female? It will attempt to use a female voice (if using Azure). If off-line, it uses what you have installed for your PC text-to-voice no matter what pilot (male or female) you have setup.
I use offline sound, because Azzure doesn’t work properly. In Alpha /beta I had male voice, now female. Nothing has been change in my PC text-to-voice.
I experienced that same with the A/B. I wonder if you turn back on Azure, let it download the male voice then go back off-line if that would fix it.
In the A/B I did have some ATC in female but my primary was set to male. In the current release, I am still using Azure and get a male voice.
I don’t get ATC sound at all so it is interesting if either option is working for you guys. Hmm. My headset doesn’t allow setting as a default comms device. I never noticed that before. It just registerable as speakers.
I have read in the forums with ATC problems. I wonder if it is based on your physical location to a MS server. I’m in Montana, USA and I noticed that most of my MSFS internet connection traffic goes to Seattle, Washington or down to northern California.
