I’m trying to copy the Blacksquare Duke from the MSFS2020 folder to the MSFS2024 folder. I managed to do this successfully with the A2A Comanche, but unfortunately, the Duke isn’t showing up on the world map. It does, however, appear in the marketplace as “streamed.”
Here’s what I copied:
SimObjects/Airplanes: All four bksq folders to the same directory in MSFS2024.
Packages/Official: Both “justflight-aircraft-duke” folders to the Official2024/Steam folder.
Community Folder: Every folder from the Community folder to the corresponding folder in MSFS2024. These where only liveries I think.
Did I miss something? The sim runs great for me overall, but getting the Duke to work would make my day. Does anyone have an idea or suggestion? I bought the Dukes in the marketplace, therefore I have no installer or something like that.
I’ve got the Turbine Duke in my library. It appeared there because I bought it from the 2020 marketplace too and it’s been transferred across to 2024.
It works too!
Obviously I can’t be certain about your system but I would suggest deleting everything you’ve transferred into the 2024 community folder and then see if you can load the plane from your library.
You will only have access to the liveries that shipped with the marketplace version at the moment.
Yeah, that’s completely strange. After 3 reinstalls of 2024, the Duke Piston now also is in the game. The Turbine is not in the game and the TBM850 has no sounds. I think I will wait for a more stable version of 2024 before I switch.
Yeah, it’s bizarre. I would imagine it’s something to do with streaming - or lack of it.
I only bought the Turbine Duke, it was on sale in the market place but you bought it from the market place as well and don’t have it?
I have the TBM but I bought that directly from Just Flight so I’ll need to install it manually into the 2024 community folder.
Everything seems to depend on how well this streaming effort works. I flew the Duke earlier today and it was fine.
Later on I flew it again and it only had half a livery. The rest was grey.
It all obviously needs a lot more cooking but it’s getting there. For the first two days I was one of the 97 percenters and the following day was spent not loading in to the runway but looking at clouds from a great height.
Good luck!
The TBM was also bought directly from JustFlight. I bought it yesterday, because I wanted to try it out in MSFS2024.
You only have the Turbine Duke? Let me tell you, the Turbine is awesome but the Piston just has these sounds and a littlebit more procedures which makes it even better for me. I can only recommend you, to grab the Piston too.
I also have a similar problem. Purchased both versions from JustFlight. Copied both folders (piston and turbine) to 2024 Community folder, but only the turbine version appears in the sim and works just fine. However, the piston Duke doesn’t appear at all and it is the one I really wanted.
Yes, this reflects my current state as well. The Turbine version works well so far, with occasional bugs, which is understandable given that it’s not optimized. However, the Piston version does not appear at all. The TBM 850 does appear, but it has no sound. Another user suggested that this might be because the 850 borrows its sounds from the TBM 930.
In the end we just have to wait, until third party developers had the chance to optimize their content.
