Is there any reason to not use the ingame flight planner and instead something like Simbrief?
Because mods like Flybywire rely on that instead of the ingame one.
If I want to plan a flight realistic as possible, like with air restrictions and so on, what would be the best way?
Routing to me is still the mystery. Like why are there common GPS routes to follow? I’ve copied down flight plans from ones I’ve found in flight aware. Simbrief seems to offer routes and alternate routes between airports.
In the world map we don’t have GPS waypoints but you can make custom points that make there way into Garmin.
Sim brief uses real world flight plans.
There are many different kinds of restrictions on airspace, both horizontal and vertical.
Using real plans will take those into account.
Both Simbrief and LittleNavMap have functions allowing you to customize your route, should there be any restrictions on the day.
LNM is particularly useful for low-altitude flyers, as you can bring up all the potential restricted airspaces you’ll be flying through. You will of course in most cases, need to search online what the restriction actually is.
Wow, MSFS can make a good flight plan with those options shown. That’s a game changer on the world map.
It gave me auto waypoints between two airports and I was able to drop in a sightseeing pin along the way. I’d probably have been arrested on landing after the tour I just took of South Beach and downtown Miami.
I use the FBW mod all be it the stable version for in sim flight planning no probs at all, Plus i find it easier flying in VR to create one from the in game flight planner
