Could This be the Answer to VR Performance Woes?

Intersting article on the effects of new mesh shaders in DX 12 Ultimate. As a Microsoft product, it would be great if FS2020 could be the poster child of the new technology.

Interesting read and concepts that I hope NVidia, AMD, and Asobo can use for “our” benefit. Thanks for sharing.

120FPS, in 4K, with triples would be so kewl; if they can ever do it. This may seriously help get there. Hopefully, good times are ahead.

There’s so much stuff in DX12U that could help the VR rendering workload to be honest…

VRS, Sampler feedback, mesh shading, direct storage - all have big potential for both flat and VR performance. Hopefully we’ll see them used eventually, if not right away.

Edit - also just out of interest I wouldn’t read too much into the AMD vs Nvidia perf in the link, from what I understand mesh shading is bugged in the drivers currently.

I’d be happy with a solid 90fps in my Reverb G2 with all settings at high or ultra.

Come on, Microsoft. This is one of your flagship games. It should be the showcase for what DX12 can do. Get on it.

Yes it would be great… if only!
