Can we have international borders drawn on the World map?
If we want to explore the world and select an airport or a point on the map, there is no way to know where we are.

I support this wish⊠But there could be problems with pending border conflicts (f.e. Tibet, Morocco, Israel and more)

I can see the benefit, but I think itâs quite impossible. Placing a border in one place rather than another is enough to have the Sim banned in some countries.
Territories including Western Sahara, Israel/Palestine, Abkhazia, Transnistria, Somaliland and Taiwan are hotly disputed. And what about war zones such as Ukraine?

Borders are clearly defined on Bing Maps, so I donât think there would be any legal issues.

Sorry, but this isnât related to the game map in any way that the lines that are present on the Bing Map whose is source for the world map in the game would or wouldnât be drawn
Political country lines on the Bing map will vary depending on where the map is viewed. Thereâs not one version of the truth.
In your territory sure, but what about the version shown in different territories? Which âversionâ would be brought into the sim?

Bing and google maps drawn different borders, depending on where you view them from. Compare what you see viewing in your country, an Indian and a Chinese VPN around the borders of India, China and Pakistan. It will be different.
I donât think a game should have to concern itself with that mess.

Simply a non-starter. Nice idea. Utterly impractical to implement.
Border maps are extremely politicized and not unanimously agreed upon. Asobo would be âlaying their cards bareâ by doing so - though they didnât seem to take issue with fundraising for Antonov.

I wasnât aware of that. But if thatâs so, it should be possible to stream in different borders depending on the playersâ region.

It becomes a complete mess for multiplayer if you do that. Just not worth it.

What makes MSFS great is when looking for a place to fly across the globe you can see how the world appears from above air and space, without these lines drawn on the globe. Every single map already tells us of these dividing lines.
The first time I experienced that in 2020 it was truly a moment I will never forget. We can fly anywhere on the world as it appears from above lets not ruin it.
I love how when searching for a certain place I find new and exciting places to visit.

I would like to have boarders.
An optional (user-selectable) boarder layer could address the objections of simmers who donât like boarders.
IP address-specific boarders could address the sensitivities of the governments with differences of opinion about boarders.

If border lines are an issue, we can at least have the name of the country under each airport ?

The sim names the country. The sim takes a political position.

Otherwise we have fairly to say, in FS 95, 98, 2000, 2002, 2004, FSX you could select airports by continent, country and city.
Instead of country borders, how about an airspace borders layer? These mostly coincide with geographical borders, and avoids sensitive topics by names like Dnipro FIR
Though it would clash with a different problem - what if FIR and UIR borders didnât match, like in France and Germany?
Please keep borders out of the sim. There are enough of them in the minds of people already. I love to view the planet as what it is: a planet.

If there is an optional layer, no need to prevent the others to get something because you donât want it!
And for problematic airports, just leave them blank thatâs ok, these are only a few of them which are in problematic political areas.

2005 isnât 2025. I think the best weâll be able to get is an aftermarket Placename add-on to populate the EFB with datasets to tag places, but not any official release.
