I have a few questions about Career mode and would really appreciate insights/solutions.
- Random Airpstrips
How long do I have to fly to random airstrips in the middle of nowhere? I have a VIP charter company and done countless missions and none of them have me flying to a proper airport. Are airliner missions the only one originating and ending at airports?
- Mission is IFR but ATC is broken
ATC seems broken as of now for IFR missions. Before a mission, in the EFB the mission is set to IFR and I have my approaches selected but ATC does not inform me altitude for descent. In the middle of the flight it just says ‘resume own navigation’. I never cancel IFR nor do I ever miss a transmission.
- AI does not respond to ATC
In my settings under Assistance I have turned on “AI Radio Communications (ATC)” but the Copilot/AI does not respond to ATC even once on any mission. This means I can not be away from my desk on a long flight because I will end up missing ATC transmissions during transition.
- UNKN / No Night Time missions
I operate on the West Coast of the US and usually sim during the night. As of now, no missions have a red dot on them meaning they are not real-time. The only time I get a red dot is if I change the time to day. And most of them are LIFR for destination airports. When they are not real-time, UNKN is displayed next to the departing and landing airports, does this mean the sim is forcing VFR regardless if I file a IFR plan?
- Custom flight plan
I like to get real-world flight plans from SimBrief as much as I can. Since there is no way to import a plan directly, I end up entering waypoints manually into the EFB before the flight but there is no place to enter altitudes for each waypoint. I can only enter cruising altitude but where do I enter descend phase altitudes for ATC? Is that something I need to do inside the aircraft and then re-file the flight plan with ATC? I fly the Vision Jet so any help would be appreciated.
