Same issue for me

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• No. Working here.
I’ve had no issues with landing triggering success or failure.
The only issue is on restarting it will sometimes not register the throttle control, and sometimes the PFD takes a while to fully boot up, sometimes both of those together. Have to restart once or twice to get successful start condition, then it’s fine doing the approach/landing triggering. These may be vision jet issues though, as iirc the same thing happens if you do a restart in freeflight.
I’ll retest that to double check though.

After 4 days trying it finally decided to show me the Landing marker, allowing me to complete the challenge

I get the same. I dont see the landing area and no matter where I land (based on the 2020 challenges) I get “Challenge Failed”

it worked for me the first days so i was able to go 1st place, now i get this bug and not able to break the record again :frowning:

update:
it’s working again, but always when i start the challenge the engine is off and needs a minute to start. So setting Flaps too early can end in a stall

I do see retrying a scenario the engine is shutting down on spawn and it takes a bit for it to fire back up which is strange. Not every time, and I have found starting scenario with throttle lever at full 100% seems to help.

In addition, I am seeing random (70% of the time) auto throttle engagement and have nothing mapped to auto throttle. I am able to fly it once then subsequent retry throws Auto Throttle on then in the descent I see VMIN then it turns on “AT” and starts to accelerate. I see keeping speed higher than 85 kts seems OK once slower and I get within 200’ of the runway the VMIN comes on and speed increases via Autothrottle. It seems to be baked into the instruments safety mechanisms or something at the Courchevel airport. Maybe because the terrain increases and it doesn’t think a landing is possible. Not sure if that, a bug, or user error. If Something can be disabled to allow this, please let me know

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I’ve seen some landing challenge clips on the internet and there are target markes. The people in the clip solved the challenge with a worse result than I did. The challenge failed info comes faster than i can stop the plane.

I have the same issue. The challanges seem to be broken which is not a surprise given the state of the game.

Hi, I had the same issue (PC user), unistalling FS2024 and installing it again fixed the issue for me.

I hope it helps

I too have the PC version, uninstalled and reinstalled, which initially fixed the issue; ultimately only to have the return of this issue a few days later. But that’s not to say your reply has no value. BTW: I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled so many times only to find the bug returns; I’m sick and tired of it

I noticed that in some landing challenges the target is on the opposite end of the runway from the direction it seems to be guiding you to approach. For example, in Bilbao, you appear to be approaching Runway 30, but in reality, the target is for Runway 12. If you go around and land from the opposite direction, it counts as a success. If you land on Runway 30, the challenge fails.

A similar issue often occurs in Career Mode. ATC asks you to report on final for a VFR pattern, but the final approach they’re referencing is for the opposite end of the runway. If you follow the flight plan and land as expected, it counts as an undesignated landing. To bypass this, you need to align with the final approach to trigger the “on final” task, then go around and land from the opposite end of the same runway.

It’s impressive to me how untested FS2024 is.

Try to see if the other walkaround is working:

This is another issue: MSFS 2024 Landing Challenges - landing targets at the wrong end of the runway or missing
If I read correctly the posts in that topic, the issue reported is that the landing blue marker is not displayed at all.

Same problem again with this weeks Courchevel landing challenge. I get a challenge failed upon landing

Sooo we got another Lukla landing in this weeks challenges. Its beyond my mind that its known to be a bug, yet, they keep adding this into weekly challenges. Are you even testing the challenges you add?
