CPU otimizations

My sim experience has always been stutter free with FPS set around 35 / 40. After update 7, however, I’ve started to have issues like stutters and irksome abrupt drops on FPS.

The so called optimization apparently killed my eye candy ultra settings. I have now annoying stutters with exactly the same settings as before.

i7 10th / RTX2060 / 32GB / SSD

The game is not optimized yet. Me since the beginning I have stuttering. in flight I have about 40 but on the ground I have 20-25. I’m trying to solve the problem I have with my RAM, maybe it will be better afterwards. But according to this week’s development update, Microsoft is still working on performance bugs when they were supposed to do so for Update 7.

Your ram would definitely be holding up your system
Google your motherboard and find instructions on how to enable the rams XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles) so it can run at it’s full 3200 mhz

Solve obvious problem first and then start looking at other possible causes if you are still having problems

that with RAMs XMP works very badly with MSFS I only had CTD with XMP

That’s most likely on your end, maybe bad memory or motherboard or PSU.
RAM should be able to run at its rated XMP profile as long as it’s on the Motherboard QVL list.

What’s your graphics settings with those FPS ? hi / ultra ?

I’m stubborn as a goat and never yield when it comes to anything but ultra.

sorry the problem is only in MSFS
PC is an ASUS Strix I don’t think these are bad components
the only bad component is the badly programmed MSFS

question : Are you employed by MS or ASOBO that you stand up for them and look for the error with the users

10700K @ 5Ghz with ring OC @ 48x @ 1.3v
32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum ram at 4000mhz tight CL18
RTX 2070 Super @ +100 core / + 1300 memory
1TB Nvme SSD with 2GB Ram allocated for caching (20GB+ Read Write now)

I did a couple tests yesterday and i’m pretty much always limited by GPU now.
Previously it was main thread so i think Asobo did something right here.

With ‘bad’ I don’t mean cheap or low quality, but it could be faulty. Maybe run some memtests on it.

no are not bad memtest already done a few times already stress test mid 3D mark no problems.

look once in the forum because the problem with XMP and MSFS is discussed

I would have a request. You could make an FPS measurement with ultra settings over Chicago. Low flight over houses, skyscrapers.

I have slower RAM. 32GB at 3200 and my CPU is the 3700x.

I am qlso GPU limited by my 2070 super. I agree the CPU optimization has been improved.

Interestingly I can play at 1080p on 130 render scaling and everything on ultra. My samsung q85r seems to upscale nicely to 4k. I can play smoothly at 60fps and looks much better than my 1440p monitor

if you can screenshot me where exactly you mean and in which aircraft i’ll try to replicate the position and send u a screenshot with the metric displayed

Chicago Ultra Preset 1080p :

Chicago Ultra Preset 1440p :

I get like 5fps more on 1440p when i go to the houses in the distance and fly a couple hundred feet above them.

Thanks for the pictures. I would like to ask you to take a test with the following settings:

Setting: Ultra
Render Scaling: 150

Aircraft: Cessna 208B Grand Caravan
View: Cockpit
Elevation: 800-900 ft
Location: Chicago
Weather: Clear

Outside view does not matter, No one flies an A320 in outside view. try benchmarking the VC of airliners when looking to the screens. I’m sure you will be CPU limited. No one flies an A320 in outside view.

ofc i know that haha, but i have my cockpit refresh on low.
I have pretty much identical performance inside.
minimal changes

the bench was to show scenery impact as they did all the work there this patch.

will do give me a couple moments

there ya go mate

1080p ultra preset, render scale set to 150 (cockpit refresh rate was @ medium btw)
I tried to get to the same spots as you did.

I am very grateful for the help! Thank you very much!

You have a very good FPS value. Unfortunately for me, it is below 30 Fps and stuttering. I am planning to buy a PC …

Now this is my configuration:

Windows 10 64bit
Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz
ASUS ROG STRIX Z270E Gaming
Samsung 500GB SSD 860 EVO
Corsair Vengeance LPX Red DDR-4 16GB / 3000 KIT /
Gainward GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Phoenix 11GB GDDR5X

There would be another venue to test, I’ll give you the parameters tomorrow.
