Description of the issue: Crash after pressing start on the main menu of MSFS 2024.

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time I load the game

REPRODUCTION STEPS

double click desktop icon
wait for main menu to come up after initial load
main menu has options of accessibility and start
click start and crash to desktop

What peripherals are you using, if relevant: logitech flight yoke and peddles

If I delete cloud saves
start shell:appsFolder\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App -DeleteCloudSaves
then it goes through the setup again and once I have chosen an avatar it says it knows me and I have FS2020 stuff available in the marketplace and then crashes.

Yup. Same here. Haven’t found a way to the main menu yet since the update to SU2.

Hey thanks to 303_HOLY on the discord for finding this. If you are using XRNecksafer for VR… You have to disable the openxr layer for that. To do that, run the program, up at the top you’ll see a button for OpenXR, disable the layer there. Once you do that you can get past the start button. At least it worked for me.

I also experienced a CTD (crash to desktop) after clicking “Start” following the SU2 update. Here’s the solution that worked for me:

I had fskneeboard installed, and that was the issue. Uninstall the program, and make sure the Windows registry is clean as well:
Go to:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenXR\1\ApiLayers\Implicit
Delete the corresponding entry there!!

I deleted a registry key in the same location but for a different device (for me is was my ultraleap hand tracking device for VR), and after WEEKS of crashing at the main menu when pressing start, I finally am able to load the game and fly.

I was also quite happy when I finally found the reason for my problem..

What is this and how do I do it? I don’t have any of the programs everyone has mentioned as the problem.
