Sane here!
Same boat as you mate. This is crazy ridiculous. “HEY LETS RELEASE A JAPAN UPDATE FOR A GAME THAT MOST PEOPLE CAN’T BLOODY RUN”
How about these guys first make the game stable? FFS.

same here… crashes same way after while when opening VFR map
same to me after the update
I have the same problem. Next time microsoft should test the game beforehand they publish it.
This works but it’s silly. It’s not fun (to me, anyhow) to fly in an empty world.
crashes to desktop and takes explorer with it for me. have to restart explorer in task manager.
event viewer changes, sometimes its :

Tried reinstalling windows, reinstalling game, different hdd, latest gfx drivers, latest redist, tried with vfr map open and closed, windowed, fullscreen. tried with AI off, on, ATC off, on. Graphics set high as they can go and potato settings. tried pagefile settings and closing explorer.exe. I honestly just think its broken atm. This has been the case since the last patch and this new patch did not fix it. Never had this many CTD and this consistently before the last two patches.
3900x and a 2070 super, no other game does this.
After weeks of CTDs on over 50% of my flights with the faulting module being ucrtbase.dll, I am now CTDing regularly with the faulting module being RenoirCore.WindowsDesktop.dll
- Ucrtbase.dll is in the C:\Windows\System Folder.
- RenoirCore.WindowsDesktop.dll is in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.9.3.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe Folder
I would normally attribute this to the 1.9.3.0 patch, but I had one of these errors before installing the patch, which was after installing the NVidia 456.66 drivers yesterday AM.
So even though the faulting module is in the program folder, perhaps the error is driver related?
Patch #3 = complete amateur homebrew junk software.
I keep crashing to desktop within a few minutes of each flight
Same here, it keeps crashing to desktop within 10-15 minutes of flight.
Guys, disable the rolling cache. I had no crashes in several days since I disabled it (while I had also 1 each 15 minutes in the early days when rolling cache was active). I also did test flights with latest patch and latest NVIDIA yesterday and today without crashing. I´m putting my system into stress with ultra settings and 200% scaling, storms, traffic, etc, and it works.
You should not need any virtual RAM in windows either. Let the game run with your live internet connection and physical RAM only (it will use at least half of it). It can handle the world scenery well and indeed it loads it in few seconds when you teleport to other world areas. So the software may not be optimized, but it works. What seems to be broken is the scenario cache process itself.
Cheers
I never used rolling cache and i’m crashing since 1.8.3.
How much RAM does your system and card have? This uses a huge amount of both indeed.
Cheers
16GB RAM and 6GB VRAM, i rarely exceed 14-15GB RAM / 5GB VRAM usage so it’s not that.
It all depends on the graphic settings, i’m not playing at Ultra.
Yeap, I´m also on those usage ranges too. I have 32Gb and 10Gb for card. I have seen other games that crashed when memory usage was above 50%, no matter how much physical RAM you indeed had, so that´s why I pointed to the memory topic.
Cheers
Nope. I played at high settings, FHD only and it crashed. Video memory never occupied more than 6-7 GB from my available 8 on RTX2070S. Happened to me in rural areas, no city needed for CTD.
I think they mentioned it as a known issue
Looks like they didn’t improve anything but made things even worse.
Last week they promised to address CTD in this patch, but didn’t mention anything about it in release notes, so I wonder if they did something to fix it at all
Getting CTDs in all flights, just a few minutes into every flight after updating to 1.9.3.0
Also seme here. Sometimes I can’t even start to fly…
