Crash to desktop without error message

Yes, after deleting the file…it started to grow again, and as soon as it got to 8GB…game crashes. So…I think this may be part of the issue.

AMD 3600X, 16GB 3200Mhz Ram, EVGA RTX 2070 Super.

Have tried both manual and windows controlled Vmem, does not seem to matter either way.
I’ve only had luck running at lowest settings, and zero online options, been able to do a ~1hr VFR flight from a town of 6,000 to a city of 400,000. No photogrammetry of the locations afaik.

Today I tried manually caching the towns at high detail, and the route at low detail (came in around 6 gigs), and I also turned on live weather and tried the route again. All other options kept the same (at lowest) I crashed when I got over the city, the event viewer shows the following crash.

Hello all, i just came here because I was having a crash to desktop issue when loading into any flight. deleting the rolling cash and turning it back on fixed it for me incase this helps anyone.

For me the only “fix” was to lower the graphics settings from HIGH to MEDIUM.

How do you delete the rolling cache?

From Windows file manager

to delete your rolling cash in-game, it’s under options > data, near the bottom.

I’m on NVMe. Cache is turned on (I think?) Cache is on the same drive as the game, but the game (without giving me any chance to object) also stored a bunch of files on the C:\ drive.

This is the same for me. Using wireless mouse and keyboard and Xbox controller and I can make it crash just by disconnecting Xbox controller or when keyboard or mouse go into sleep mode. This needs fixing. Time to use wired connections until MS bring out a patch

Same issue here. Crash on menu loading screen most times, sometimes crash in while loading map, when I rarely do get in the game, it works pretty well.

Windows store standard game
High graphics preset

Windows 10 2004
Nvidia Drivers 452.06
9700k
2060 Super
NVME SSD
Wireless mouse, keyboard, and Xbox One Controller

Just tried that and reduce the graphic settings to low… I was able to fly a little bit longer, but still it crashed :frowning: Please fix Asobo. There are lots of people mentioning about CTDs!

After flying for more than an hour. The crash seems to come back. The paging doesnt help or fix. I guess this needs a big time patch ASAP

No system crash yet today…and since lowering my RAM from 3600 to 3200mhz. I have since added back in MSI afterburner and did a small overclock, raising my FPS from 38 to 50 on Ultra with a 2060 Super. An occasional hiccup at the higher frame rate but have stepped back up to Ultra on everything and running the Cali/Nevada bush pilot activity down low in the mountains.

I have not upgraded my Nvidia driver that was released yesterday…or done any of the Admin stuff.

After getting in the cockpit a couple of times, my game has now taken to crashing with no error message every single time upon completing the loading sequence into the world. Either just before the blue bar reaches the end, or as soon as it loads into the cockpit. My Windows 10 copy is updated to 1909, graphics drivers are updated, and I’ve tried deleting and turning off the cache. Running on a 3.2ghz 8-core Intel Xeon iMac Pro (Bootcamp) with 32gb memory and an 8gb dedicated Vega 56 graphics card. At least I can enjoy the menu.

I’m back to crashing. MS Surface Book 2 with 1060, MS Xbox One controller, MS Flight Simulator. You’d think the game would work using 100% of their own items. I’ll try the cache and report back if that works. Somehow I’m not optimistic.

for me, exactly the same problem, but unfortunetly, no solution. Just now hope for a patch !

Me too! Between this and the ■■■■ rudder controls. I’ve about had enough. Visuals are great, but if you can’t play it? Come Microsoft.

Try the ‘Reset’ settings option I describe in my edited post. Best of luck!

after ‘Reset’ settings option, i can go to menu but if i try to go flying, CDT, unfortunetly ! :unamused:

I can recreate the CTD for me very simply - press the xbox button on my wireless xbox controller to switch on the controller to control the done camera. Does it anywhere in flight every time. There is definitely something iffy with wireless controllers or peripherals waking up or going to sleep that is the cause of at least some crashes. If my controller is kept on throughout, then no issues.

I have the game on a dedicated ssd drive (not C drive which is a small M.2 drive) with a 250Gb cache which, by the way, has a single 250Gb file in it! So I don’t think this is cache file size related.

Other than this the game runs well for me. I need to check if it crashes when the xbox controller switches off when not in use.

Specs:
i9 10900K not OC
32Gb 3200 RAM
RTX 2080 Super

I’ve not touched the page file, and run as administrator but that doesn’t stop the xbox controller crashes
