CTD after latest update (Update #5)

@MotivatedAsp31
In this folder are you getting what is called an Application Dump? This isn’t a memory dump those go into another location. They will have .dmp extension. For MSFS it may be named: flightsimulatorXXXXX.dmp (where xxxxx is a number)

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\CrashDumps

Windows 10 Home may not have Application Dumps on by default as they are quite large, 2GB+, but PRO may have it on. Or if WER (Windows 10 Error Reporting) is turned on. This dump file will show where it’s crashing or at least show the last loaded module before a CTD. This dump, is what should be sent to Asobo via Zendesk; along with a memory dump file.

Application Crash Dumps (Turn ON/OFF):

I’ve had 3 members on this forum send me their Application Dumps, 2 out of the 3 showed no crash (but they did have a CTD). Reinstalling MSFS worked. The other one did show a crash, reinstalling did not fix their CTD as I was able to isolate that one with their graphics card.

On this last Feedback Snapshot, Asobo has CTD’s on a backlog. What’s happening is that they can’t duplicate the problem and having both the memory dump and application dump may help when filing a zendesk.

Also, if you want to read your own Application Dumps, download the Microsoft WinDgb Preview from the MS Store.
