They have a best testing team you can imagine. Ca. 1.000.000 of users. You can’t compare any internal team with that number, so why should you have one?
Luckily I got spared. I’m playing on a simple laptop, only a mouse and Logitech Extreme 3D plugged in. Sometimes simple is better (not really landing with cross-wind always results in wildly swerving down the runway on touch down)
I have a .flt file which caused CTD upon starting to taxi before this update (#5). I saved it purposely to test after the update: No change, still CTD. Sigh.
I know this is a known issue. Anyone know workaround?
Where is the event log? I’ve tried everything…still CTD!
My sim loads without any issues but it won’t detect my CH yoke for some reason.
Well, at least I’m in the CTD club!
I am experiencing the same crash during load. My installation crashes right after the “New Scenery” page is displayed. This is the first time since Alpha I have experienced any crash issues. Patch 5 is the first. I tried your idea about switching my Audio Playback Device. Unfortunately, it didn’t help.
Yep same here, community folder was empty before installation and is also after that. But still it just crashes after 10 or less minutes in the sim, impossible to fly for now.
CTD club here as well , I can get into the game but when I am flying say a landing practice about 2 minutes in it crashes or when loading into a airport it crashes. This is surely a very important thing to hotfix immediately. Widespread issue here .
I tried everything (CTD before reaching main menu) but I only got to main menu after I disabled vJoy. If you have it, maybe try that.
I also installed windows updates and all driver updates
Have you tried unplugging your USB peripherals apart from keyboard and mouse? A lot of people here are saying that works. Whether it still works when you plug them back in is another matter!
The problem for me is my PS4 controller. If plugged the game crashes, if not the game works. I can’t play without the controller
They are working on it…
Doubt it will be hotfixed. They should provide some workaround steps to get around it though (maybe changing a value in a config) shortly and then the next update will provide the permanent fix.
Same on my end. Launches without my DS4 plugged in, crashes with it.
Guys, QA isn’t this hard. Come on…
ASOBO’s continual ability to break things makes me feel better about the software I work on having minor bugs. That’s not a compliment.
When you plug the USB device back with the sim running - CTD.
All I know is they released a statement about it on Twitter hopefully they actually do get a hotfix for this
Same here, and I even unplugged EVERY usb device, INCLUDING keyboard and mouse. Still CTD at the Japan screens. Dead in the water. WELL DONE ASOBO.
I think the issue is with the old controller profiles you might have saved.
I can’t startup with my Thrustmaster Hotas X because it tries to apply one of my saved profiles and Poof. CTD.
I can startup with my CH Products Flightsim Yoke, but the default profile has no assignements. So If I edit that and save it as CH Products Flightsim Yoke USB New. It’s fine. But now if I use the little arrow keys to load a previously saved (pre patch) profile. CTD.
So at this point I can ONLY rebuild the CH Products Flight Sim Yoke Profile from scratch, and make sure I only use that one.
The product doesn’t provide a way to erase old controller profiles that existed pre patch, and if the system tries to use those…BAM!
The bottom line is that if your system is trying to use a controller profile that existed PRIOR to patch, you’re going to desktop. And currently I don’t see a way that you can go in and force MSFS to delete previous controller/keyboard/mouse profiles so you can start over.
Exact same for me. Everything unplugged and it makes no difference.
Awesome.
And btw - I tried doing a “Verify File Integrity” on Steam. Caused the game to do a full reinstall. Double Awesome!
