Have you tried emptying your Community folder?

yes but not fix

You could try reducing all Settings to lowest. If that helps increase them individually. Tedious but might help.

Moved to #community-support for community assistance.

I did it but it didn’t work and my friends have a same problem…

Are you and your friends all on the same Server?

No different server

I’m out of ideas. I truly hope you get this solved, it is such an amazing flight sim when it is working properly. Good luck.

Thanks bro

Have you tried clearing your shader cache and rolling cache? You clear the rolling cache by deleting it and then recreating it, then restart the sim. Hope it helps :+1:

have a big problem, and my friends have same problem, it’s problem has CTD always when flight positions and crashing close sim to desktop And this is a common problem ctd :person_facepalming:t2: very bad bug … And I tried different solutions but it didn’t work fix crash to desktop close simulator…We are not hopeful with fix :disappointed: I wish Microsoft would follow up and fix these problems with update hotfix… Please report to Microsoft. Thanks

and nothing is mentioned within the feedback topics for SU 12 Beta about ?

I am having the crash to desktop about every third flight. Always happens at some random, different point in the flight. Have Ryzen 9 and 4090 card. Everything runs smooth until the crash. What can I do to fix this? Can’t keep flying and praying at the same time.

Hi @SevenMagic21363 ,
Have you tried the checklist @TheSevenflyer mentions earlier in this thread (just scroll up a bit to see it)?

I finally managed to get around to doing LFBD to KSEA achievement in flight simulator.

I’ve now done 7 long haul flights over 9 hours long. However originally I always steered away from these mainly due to FS crashing. So I spent a significant time optimising the rigs I have to ensure FS is rock solid. My main rig is:

  • Intel i7-13700KF
  • Nvidia RTX 4070 SUPER
  • 32 Gb RAM 5200Mhz

I’ve also helped 4 other friends optimise there rigs and get it stable to run FS across intel and AMD. So thought I’d pop a post together to help others. If it helps all good, but the post doesn’t guarantee any fixes, it has just helped me a great deal.

1. Remove the rubbish – I’ve found 3rd party tools especially tools that come with motherboards from vendors can cause issues. The worst being ASUS armoury crate where this would always cause a crash in FS after around 40 mins flight if you have HT or SMT enabled.

2. Chipset Drivers - Make sure you install the chipset drivers for your motherboard, this really helps not only performance but also stability as well.

3. Use the latest GPU drivers - Don’t rely on the drivers that come with Windows, they tend to be older vendor drivers that although stable may not be optimised for FS.

4. Enable Resizeable Bar - Enable this in the bios if you have support for it, I’ve found this helps stability (although some people when troubleshooting disable this feature)

5. Use TAA and DX 11 - I’ve found TAA with DX 11 the most stable in Flight Simulator. However on my main rig I use DLSS Balanced on DX 12 and its not crashed once on me.

6. Disable SMT or HT in BIOS - I’ve found having this enabled especially in VR causes a lot of stutter in the game, FS mainly uses 4 threads, but with this enabled it uses only two cores and the SMT/HT on that core. I’ve seen this crash the game as well when running 3rd party tools such as Armoury Crate.

7. NVME M2 Drives - Make sure you are using the correct Gen Drive for your motherboard with the correct key PIN. Check your motherboard manual for this. I’ve seen instances where B+M Key Gen 4 Driver work ok and M Key causes the simulator to hang. And visa versa. This is due to the incompatibility across the PCI-E lanes if you use the wrong supported drive and it often materialising with the GPU hang or crash. Check your motherboard manual.

8. Update to the latest BIOS - Ensure you are using an update version of the BIOS. I know its scary for some to flash the bios but often early editions tend to be installed on boards and they aren’t as reliable as updated version. This in itself can fix some issues, I’ve seen a Gigabyte RTX 4090 have stability issues, updating the bios fixed this.

Hope some of this helps people, take care and happy flying
