[ctd fix] 1.18.13.0

,

This is how I resolved my CTD issues for now.

  1. Before I updated the sim I cleared my community folder.(I just moved the contents to another folder)
  2. Restart computer after update
  3. Turn off bluetooth peripherals
(I had headphones and wireless gamepad, when my gamepad reconnected, instant CTD!)
  4. Turn off all AI (I turned off live traffic, ships, boats, cars, airport ground vehicles, everything!)

I have been able to fly for 2 hrs without a crash. I still get the occasional 1 minute plus freeze out of nowhere. But at least I’m able to fly.
I haven’t tested out any addons yet. I was able to use little navmap connect app with my laptop with no issues.
I hope this helps you all until they can drop a hotfix for this.

My Setup: i5 4440s| RX 570 XXX| Radeon driver 21.4.1 |16gb ram| pny ssd| MS Store Standard Version|
[Update:]
I remembered I was having trouble in the menu, and world map screen.
I read in a forum post about this issue. After you have removed the files from community, delete your content.xml file, and files in packages of your local cache folder.

Info from flightsim.toLink is here

I temporarily deleted the W.T. G1000 from marketplace.
I am now able to fly without crashing.

This has worked for me also (touch wood). a 49min flight with live weather and live traffic.

I am not banking on it lasting .. but hey, there is always hope

Did 1 & 2.
Can’t do 3 a my Mouse and Keyboard are on bluetooth. And as wireless controls are pretty much an industry standard nowadays, this shouldn’t be required to run software in 2021
Tried 4 but still got regular CTDs. And to be honest: as being built-im features I still expect a professional software to have this working or simply not including buggy elements untill problems are solved.

I’m trying a re-install at the moment as my sim kept freezing before the menu.

One thing I’ve noticed though is that if you plug in a wireless keyboard or mouse to charge it, the installer pauses for quite some time or simply crashes without a message. The same thing happens when you unplug the USB cable.

I’ve submitted a report.

[Edit]: These are not Bluetooth peripherals although I also had a crash when I disconnected my Bluetooth ear buds.

i have default msfs
no bluetooth at all.
dunno what ai trafic has to do while msfs ctd in the menu’s

Do you have the Working title g1000 installed?
I think I was having ctd in menu screen before.
If you do have it installed, remove it from the marketplace if possible to see if that fixes the issue.
I just tested the Working Title - CJ4 v0.12.6. Flew (IFR) LFLB - LFPG No ctd.
Noticed improved ATC approach routing too!

I tried that addon, but I didnt like it. If you created a flight plan including POIs, it only shows the direct route to the destination. So there are a few glitches with it still. looks nice, but still needs some work as it is an early release. Flight planning has gone a bit weird since the update.

@hst12 You are correct, it seems when something is connected or reconnected, it crashes.
I’m sad to see it is not working . I will update my post with other things I did to see if it helps.

Well I got a couple of hours before a CTD when ending the flight. LOL At least I had landed and parked :stuck_out_tongue:

Constant CTD after update 5. See event view text far below. Main error was 0xc0000005. I did the following:

Windows - cmd prompt (run as admin) -
type sfc /scannow - Enter.

Let windows repair. I have had 3 successful flights with no CTD.

It really depends on the plane you use. Since the update came out, I have had at least a dozen flights in the TBM930 with the Working Title GX3000 upgrade, ranging from 1 to 3 hours, and all flew perfectly fine (and I love the huge FPS improvement) with no CTD or anything else.

But even with all add-ons turned off, I can’t even get into the 747, the A320 has CTD issues after an hour or two (and in one case suddenly forgot it was to follow a flightplan and suddenly started to fly in circles).

Kudos to the developers for the performance upgrade. It was desperately needed and they came through. But oh man, the bug count on this patch is eye-watering!

My system before the update wouldn’t allow me to fly over 160 knots. :grinning:
I will try those today If I get the chance.

Here’s what I did to kind of fix it:
-If you have your PC overclocked, revert it to default settings
-turn off live traffic.

That’s about it… This probably won’t work for everyone though. Feel free to try it!

Ryzen 5 2600, GTX 1660 OC, 16GB RAM.

Looks like there is a hotfix in the works that will be released at 1500 UTC on Friday. So hang in there guys
