I got an CTD over london and the error message in the event viewer is as below, I have always even in the older sims been rubbish at understanding them, can someone help me understand it. Thanks

Do you have any add-ons in your Community folder? ...

?

Yes, I use addon linker, so my addons change on a day by day basis, but I also have addons that always sit in my community folder

we can see these error message often in case that mods are installed and its high possible that one of the mod cause that error. May be you can retest without installed mods…

Thanks, I’ll give it a try, it’s a shame the error message doesn’t lead you to the exact mod that’s causing the issues

What plane were you flying, and did you have on of the GPS mods installed?

It was the FBW A32NX Dev, Olbia (ORBX) - Manchester (Maccosim) and no GPS mods

A few users have reported crashes with the A32NX modded plane.

yep…

Therefore I repeat the second part of the issue template

Do you have any add-ons in your Community folder? If yes, please remove and retest before posting.

I have long ago given in on the logic of my CTD’s.
They occur when I have emptied the community folder, turned off live weather in Data, turned of AI traffic and used the default Cessna and set graphics to medium and had them.
I have also turned everything back on one at a time so eventually set the graphics up to Ultra and used an Oculus Quest in VR and it has been OK for days and then it happens at random.
It is really frustrating what causes them. Just changing a view or doing nothing at all and it happens.
I don’t understand the mini dump data either.

It could be the A32NX addon itself that’s the cause, or possibly an interaction with other mods. What I would do is try flying with only the A32NX active first.

Depending on how often you got that CTD, you might need to fly like that for some time to establish whether it is the cause. I flew for three weeks without some of my addons to find where my crashes were coming from, to know for certain the root cause. A flight or two won’t be enough.

I haven’t had a crash since April 25th, so I’m reasonably certain the sim itself is not prone to crashing, but it’s stability can be greatly affected by addons. Once these interactions are identified, these can be reported to relevant parties so that these defects can be corrected.

Ok thanks, hopefully fbw can understand what causes the crashes, CTDs are nothing new for me, luckily they’re not as common as they are in FSX/P3D, I’ll possible give it a go with just the A32NX, normally I only fly to payware airports so I don’t really want to not use them if possible

You are probably safe with any addon that affects graphics or scenery, but removing them all is the general advice to ensure nothing gets missed in testing. I didn’t remove my enhanced airport textures mod while I was testing, for example.

Thanks for the advice
