CTD on startup after 3 fresh re-installs

Several days ago, I was watching some Youtube videos claiming that a fresh re-install of MSFS could help improve performance following the latest sim update. However, after I reinstalled, MSFS now fails to load and CTD without any error messages prior to reaching the menu screen. So far, I’ve verified the integrity of the files via Steam and reinstalled the game a total of 3 times.

This is where the game crashes:

This is the error log on WIndows Event Viewer:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing in Community folder?

Nope, nothing at all. Completely fresh install.

This is frustrating. One would think after decades of programming they could get it load after a fresh install. I hope you find a solution.

Hi @GradedLeader2,
Others have experienced this as well:

There are multiple “fixes” where one doesn’t work for another. From looking at some of those topics/posts… gaming services or a profile setting (which syncs from the cloud) are culprit. Lucky for you, the cloud sync is easier managed with Steam.

Steam Cloud Sync:

We are all fortunate to have @Hester40MT watching over
and helping us.

Thanks, @Hester40MT.

Just disabled Steam Cloud globally and removed the userdata folder. The only difference now is that it results in the “Set Your Experience” menu. The sim will crash shortly after passing that menu. Same error codes seen on the Event Viewer.

Hi try deleting your rolling cache - I had a similar CTD on start up out of nowhere - reinstalled - same then deleted cache and whoopy got through to main menu and another reinstall - worth a try! Cheers Si
