CTD (Steam) while installing UK Update

A virgin install of MSFS2020 standard edition, completed installation fine. And then some other updates, as expected.

Now when trying to fly, it wants to install the UK Update - gets about 70% through it, before crashing out of the game and back to Steam. Happens 100% of the time.

I’ve ensured all else is up-to-date (Windows, drivers, XBox) and removed joysticks to remove any ‘outside influence’.

PC is basic, meets minimum spec.

Anyone else find this specific issue…CTD 70% way through the install of UK Update…and manage to get past it?

Check at least the virtual memory point… and ensure installed EN Lang pack.

Investigating as per link, and then the suggestions. Will get back once I’ve taken a look.

I had a look at the audio - nothing specified was related - but I removed a resource heavy Realtek audio item instead - still no luck.

How do I check what language pack is installed…as ‘and ensure installed EN Lang pack.’ is FAR AWAY FROM EXACT INFORMATION.

*my PC, ■■■■ though it is, MEETS MINIMUM SPECIFICATION.

MINIMIUM SPEC say’s nothing !!

But anyway… how many RAM you own / have installed ?

Have you checked this point ? What is your current setting ?

Language :

windows → settings → Time & Language → Language → “English ( United States” should be shown

Thanks, yes, I checked this (and added UK version while at it).

I was unsure if you meant the settings within the simulator, as I’m assuming there are options there too. Sadly, I’ve not yet got to the menu options within the game.

I’m in the process of capturing some screenshots and a step-by-step order of what I did to get here, and raise it as a bug. I was exploring to see how common this maybe, and also if it was known and had a simple fix - it seems not - so I’ll raise it.
