SOLVED.

For some bizarre reason I had to install the United States Language pack and I can now access the General options panel and no I’m not American I’m in the UK and my system is configured for the UK and always has been

I’m surprised they didn’t want the French pack installed as well !!!

Just adding to this topic in case anyone else is searching…

I encountered this error just today; first time going into 1.36.2.0 update since it was released. Error ONLY occurred going into OPTIONS > GENERAL, everything else working just fine.

Checked language options - only had English UK installed so I added the English US language pack also. Initially this didn’t resolve the problem … it seems that you must also have the ‘text to speech’ options installed, then I’m up and running again.

What I find a bit odd is that running on a new build W11 computer for the past year, never had the US language pack installed as far as I know (unless a background windows update secretly removed it …) and MSFS has been the most robust and smoothest running thus far … right up until the latest update and this problem. :face_with_monocle:
