I am wondering if I am the only simmer who has experienced this issue. DFW (Asobo handcrafted airport) crashes whenever I fly near Grapevine Lake which is to the North / Northwest side of DFW. I tested my sim with and without mods and no avail. It pauses for 3 seconds and then it closes MSFS to my desktop. No error message or anything. I saw in another post another simmer had experienced this as well. Does anybody have a solution for making DFW usable again, at least to just fly in and out. I am unable to approach the airport at all. Sadly I learned of this issue on a 2.5hr flight from KSAN to DFW attempting to approach on 17R. I’m pretty well familiar with the sim, so I have already validated my game files, deleted and reinstalled DFW from the content menu, and even flew without mods but still no avail. Its something in that area making it crash which is eerily similar to the CTD many of us received flying outside of DCA until the APX.bgl fix came out that helped. Please help if anyone has any solutions…I just want to land my plane man lol
Just to be thorough, did you clear rolling cache if it’s enabled? I was just flying around DFW a few days ago and wasn’t experiencing CTDs in that area, so just trying to think through possibilities.
I haven’t tried in the current SU15 beta, but I’ve flown into DFW from multiple directions and in various aircraft in the previous versions without any issues (other than the well-known graphics issue with DFW detailed in another thread).
Is this happening with various aircraft, or just one specific plane?

Hi yes! I typically clear my cache on every reload as I use the addons linker to relieve my community folder and load times. I also clear my scenery index every flight as well.
Yes, this is occurring in all planes. Initially I found the issue in my LatinVFR A321. Tested it in the default airbus 320 and still same crash. Also to add, on a separate flight where I was originally flying to KSAN from KCLT. My route took me over DFW. When I flew near DFW around the Northern side, my sim crash with no warning. I was about FL330. When I rerouted my plane significantly far from flying over DFW attempting the KCLT-KSAN again…no CTD.
I did a quick flight in SU15 Beta 3 (1.37.5.0) and didn’t have any issues. Flew over Grapevine-just north of DFW-onward in SE direction.
In the test version of the sim, I don’t have any mods/outside connection programs installed or running.
I know this doesn’t help you directly, but it’s not a universal problem. It’s not listed as a “fix” in the release notes so don’t think SU15 is the fix. Now we just need to figure out what can be causing your issue.
