Hi,
Whenever there is content requiring updating in the Profile>Content Manager section I attempt to download and update the items.
The download seems to happen, but during a pause, which I assume is the decompression and install phase, the sim CTD’s. This usually only happens on the second item I attempt to update.
After restarting the sim, the package appears downloaded and updated, but the same happens when I attempt the next item (well, actually the item after that)
Did you install the sim core content on another drive and not being the default location?
I had this with the pre-SU4. It only happened when I had a specific addon installed, the Islander I believe. It would crash whenever a plane was downloaded from the “My Content” page.
The SU4 update fixed this for me.
This could be a similar issue, so as a test try removing all community mods, then re-test your downloads.
I think so.
Its at C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe for packages
but the content (Community and Official) is in C:\MSFS2020
I get a guaranteed CTD only when loading any saved flight plan (pln). I can execute and run a flight plan via the World Map as long as I don’t save it. This has occurred since the last update.
Topic moved into #bugs-and-issues:performance for CTD problems.
Why? It’s on the same drive(!)
