YES. The CTD happens even in SAFE MODE

Brief description of the issue:

CTD on MSFS loading screen at approx. 50% of progress bar with Exception 0xc0000005 and offset error 0x00000000014dc4c6. I used the simulator for months without issues. I didn’t use it for a couple of weeks and now I’m not able to start the application anymore… No external application has been installed in the meantime (except for ■■■■■■ MS automatic updates…)
I already tried to restore both MSFS, XBOX, MS Store applications without results.

If you haven’t seen this, it is the first of the support checklists for this issue.
There are links to others in this list.

Do you have your pagefile disabled? If so, try building a pagefile more than 8gb. Error looks familiar. Even though you have 64gb of ram MSFS and many apps can error and crash with a similar error code when pagefile isn’t available.

I have similar pc config and after last uprate got same CTD (assuming you have vcruntime140.dll error in event viewer too). It closes at approx.75% of loading bar and did try almost all things avaliable in forums even some of them are delibaretly irrelevent and absurd.

It makes me nervous

Have the same problem. Tried also everything except the total new installation of my computer. Nothing works. I have never had this before. I have this only with pimax play and/or pimax XR installed. Not specially opened just installed on my Pc. But if I uninstall pimax software, fs works and loads the way but without VR.

I’m fully aware of the complexity behind it, but it’s incredibly frustrating how much MSFS is unstable even after 4 years from release and millions of users.
I used it on both INTEL and AMD High-end PCs and always had issues from time to time…
Let’s hope that MSFS2024 does better in terms of application stability…

Anyway, the only solution I found was:

  1. Copy the entire Package (Offical and Community folders) in a temporary folder
  2. Uninstall and re-install MSFS
  3. Paste the entire Package (Offical and Community folders) from the temporary folder in order to avoid hours of download and installations…

After that the application re-started behaving correctly.
I’m pretty sure that this time the fault has been caused by some Windows automatic update.
